well, its no big deal, after all the U.S GPS is commonly used worldwide even in a rival/enemy countries like China, Venezuela, Cuba and Russia. So its no real big deal/threat to the U.S if Russia suspends GPS sites on its territory. Its not like Russia is a big market anyway.
That's the issue with Russia, it is still has a weak world economic influence(even Brazil, Italy have bigger economy, and soon even India will overtake Russia economically as well)
China, India, Brazil provide/will provide a bigger market for the U.S/west than Russia. The only remaining little threat Russia has against the U.S/west is militarily (mostly remnants from the collapse of the U.S.S.R), and this is mostly regionally in eastern Europe. Meanwhile the U.S has global commitments/issues. Russia is just a little nuisance to the U.S. China and in long term India will be the real rivals to the U.S as they have the manpower/economic clout to reduce U.S world economic influence.
so the closure of GDP in Russia wont pose any threat to the U.S as the world has a de facto monopoly in the world for its GPS.
