Vostok, it appears to be a mystery to me but I want to know why Russia stopped producing people like Tolstoy, Chekov, Gorky or Dostoevksy. Of course, they came from all social classes, for example, Tolstoy came from an aristocratic family while Gorky from a lower class family.... but they all were gems.
