Correct. Actually an adult man has RCS of about 1 meter square. So 0.5 meters square is extremely small for a plane that size, smaller than the RCS of an adult woman.

Technically, a targetting pod can be used to reduce aircraft detection by using the pod to engage enemy air and ground targets instead of switching on Radar as switching on radar would make the aircraft easy to detect and engage.
