The number of Pantsirs lost and confirmed is 8 in Libya(mostly destroyed in hangars and on trailes) and 2 in Syria. That are just facts. Why would Turkey directly(military) challenge Iran?? As far as I know there are no outstanding issues that require military action against Iran(for now)

To be honest for me entire world's SAMs are useless for example:
KSA multiple times failed to stop drones and missile attacks with USA tech.
Syrian air defence unable to stop Israel, Turkish attacks.
Iran shot down their own passengers plan with SAM.
India shot down thier own chopper with Israel tech.
Forget Yemen and Russian SAMs.

I think this is the reason Pakistan didn't focused so much on SAM systems.

Pakistans Jf17 is the best Pakistan could do! Pakistan needs Strike Capabilities the next would be to build long range AA Missles I dont know if there is a program but a licenced turkish or chinese version would also be good instead of buying..

I do not know if pakistan can get PL21? that would be a good option too licence for pl12 also some pl15 would be great for pakistan.. maybe pak can get pl21? also some cruise missles against radar systems and we can say all this is better than sam systems for Pakistan.. of course it wouod be great to have Multi LAyered SAM systems but it is not worth something without the proper air fleet

also we can say for iran it has no meaning to buy great fighter jets.. because their threat is far bigger than what pakistan face.. their enemy is EU/US Israel if they all attack Iran even if Iran would have 250 SU35 with latest Russian AA missles it would have no meaning.. they would be soon decimated and they way for destruction would be clean..

what I want to say is Irans strategy to have serious long range Missles for striking and some air defence systems is for them enough and cheaper they can make the price high for a possible attack.. also their air force is enough for their country and against terrorist entities and other small threads... focusing on drones is cheaper and better for them..

SAMs are not useless if used correctly, which is against a force with a far greater air force then your own. Russia uses SAMs bc their air force will never be able to compete with NATOs.
