Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that his country is actively developing multifaceted relations with Pakistan, including in the fields of trade and counter-terrorism.

What we know, Russia is India's biggest Defense supplier....Putin is clever not to mention this sector...don't want to loose Indian bucks here.

Did that stop Russia from selling us Jet engines,helicopters,gunships,small arms,overhauling factories for helis etc? Or offering jets? Nope.

If you see the contract that was finally signed, it was actually much lower in terms of transfer of Rafale tech (even for maintenance) then two years ago. Mate it wasn't a comparison, but an advise, take it or leave it, that is upto you guys.

As for Pakistan's foreign policy, yes i admit that it hasn't been as good as we would have liked it to be, but that was in the past, the future looks to be a whole lot different.

Do not blame America for the short comings of the Pakistani establishment and the Pakistani military

dont worry, we have better options available.. what we need Russia for is trade. CPEC can be extended beyond China and that is where we need Russia.. Use Gawadar port and our road network and pay us $$$$$... thats all..

Russia is not an economic powerhouse. They have energy and raw materials. They have decent military hardware. They are falling behind in all facets of modern warfare. You can argue that Pakistan does not need state of the art military hardware.

During the cold war (when Pakistan was close to America and India was close to USSR) Indo-Soviet bilateral trade was equal to Indo-US bilateral trade.

US and India have the same interests in the region. US is only using India to satisfy its needs. After all we all know the enemy of your enemy is your friend.
