Rupee hits five-month high against dollar as greenback falls to Rs161.82

Indian IT companies are mostly consulting agencies of all kind not just BPO. But you can believe what you want, no one cares. And most of the software's that world use today are part Indian made. Rest is all gibberish.

Employment is what takes countries out of poverty. Service sectors can give you revenue but they are pretty bad at employment generation. As manufacturing grows, service sector too thrives servicing the industrial sector.

Of the 3000 billion USD total cap of IT overall in 2018, you can measure the Indian share in it and talk about the Indian percentage which is abysmally low, actually no presence in new programming language, or any operating system, new architectural paradigms or algorithms.

Indian IT(so called IT), it's a low skilled business process outsourcing to mostly US companies and Indian companies like Infosys and Wipro and the likes of them simply hire the code coolies and the call center people or get them the US H1-B tech visas for the US companies(now the numbers is down by 50%).

The reason when an American citizen calls the City Bank in US city of Los Angeles for their US credit card details, bank account, the call is routed to an Indian Raju/Vikram with the new name Mr. Micheal or Mr. Brown and with discerning Indian accent of US English. Add some other low skilled IT to the Indian IT scene...

You look up any big software company. Open their directorate and then tell me how many Indians are working in that company. But I am sure Pakistanis if and when are employed will be made CEO's of powerful software companies directly, overlording poor Indian IT coolies. Only Pakistanis can conjure up such wild imaginations. Lol.

Good luck to Pakistan.

You talked about Indian IT industry and that India has about 30% share of the world IT market...which is hugely false as the IT Industry in 2020 worldwide can be worth more than 4000 billion USD, looking at the 2018 figure, I posted earlier.

I contested these false statistics...

5 million Indians employed can be true looking at the low skilled, high labor BPO and code coolies that is India's IT, that doesn't mean India has about 30% share of world IT...this isn't true.

I didn't say India IT industry is 30%. I said 30% of workforce in IT is Indian. And yet Indians employed cannot be more than 10 million.

The article you quoted was from 2015. Since 2016 till today, indian startups raised $63 billion. India has a vibrant digital start up scene.
