TEHRAN (FNA)- TAM Iran Khodro has geared up to produce Runna - IKCO second self-developed car - on a modern production line, the company's chief announced on Wednesday.

"Production line overall operation has been completed and TAM and IKCO engineers are calibrating the line to achieve desired quality," TAM Iran Khodro CEO Hamid Moradi said

Moradi referred to the technical specifications of the line, and said, "What is important is that all the phases of the project, including management, design, development, installation and launching the line have been accomplished by Iranian experts."

TAM CEO added that this line is unique not only in IKCO but in the country. Some of the specifications of this production line are: equipment like Overhead Shuttle for secondary lines, Roller Hemming Robotic System for the hood and trunk, new methods in design of welding fixtures, Specific Transport Systems, Maximum use of internal manipulators heavy displacements. These specifications play a key role in quality, performance and efficiency of the production line. The line took six month to set up and is all set to go operational.

Runna is the second IKCO car which is supposed to be mass-produced this year. IKCO will dispatch 50 thousand units of this sedan to domestic and international markets.

IMO they took too long to start mass production. They need to decrease the time between design and roll out to get maximum profit out of these in the international mkts. Anybody have a list of where Runna will be sold outside Iran?

chech this site out guys

Soheil bro,
Specs of this babe pls! Congrats!

Runna is Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) second and Iran's 3rd Iranian-designed passenger car. Code-named X12 and based on the Peugeot 206, the Runna is smaller than the IKCO Samand (X7), Iran's first domestic car.[1] The Runna will be offered with at least three four-cylinder engines, including a 108-horsepower 1.6-liter gasoline unit, a 95-horsepower 1.4-liter and a 1.7-liter powerplant that runs on CNG, both of which are reported to meet Euro IV and V emission standards and the "Pedestrian Impact" safety requirement.[1][2] Features are said to include airbags, antilock brakes, power steering and power windows.[1]
The first cars were expected to reach Iranian customers in mid-2011[3], with exports to Turkey and other neighboring countries to begin shortly after that. IKCO plans to build 150,000 Runnas a year at full production.[1]
The external design of Runna represents modernism and dynamism in order to show a different view of IKCO brand without having any effect on the final price. A completely new appearance in the front and rear including engine hood, trunk lid, bumpers, lights, and fenders and also a simple yet strong, practical design for dashboard & other interior components are simply admirable and eye-catching. This vehicle has a tri-chamber type structure. It is made from drawn steel sheet which ranges in thickness from 0.7 mm to 2.5 mm, depending on its function. High elastic strength steel sheets are used for components that are subjected to particularly high levels of stress, such as the front structural member supports or the sub frame. This enables both greater strength and a weight reduction of around 50% to be achieved over conventional sheets which would have to be more than twice as thick to withstand the same stresses. One of the most important points at Iran Khodro Industrial Group whilst the specification for a new vehicle was being drawn up is safety. It includes active and passive safety. The first one utilizes mechanical components and vehicle dynamics to push the accident threshold as far back as possible. The second complements the first and seeks to reduce the consequences of the accident by using as many options as possible. The Runna can claim to be a vehicle which can measure up to the safety features that one has a right to expect from a modern product.[4]

Taking the Iranian Rial devaluation into account, Runna has become even more competitive in international markets. because its price now will be lower. In fact the devaluation of Iranian Rial could help Iran to increase its non-oil exports and to curb the sanctions on its oil sector this way, because Iranian companies will sell their products in dollar but they pay their workers in Rial, so that would help Iranian companies selling products to foreign countries. I guess if IKCO introduces this product for 9000$ in international market they'll sell a large number of them in a short period, but they must have good customer support in destination countries to be successful. Overall, the chances of Runna being sold successfully looks high to me and I shall say why later if asked.

well Iran companies sell their cars inside Iran with a very high price , I'm sure if they want to export it they will export it with 5000-6000 $ price tag not 9000$ price tag which is a conversion of the value from Rial to Dollar

that is good car

does any one knows how much fuel it will consume in kilometer
