RT: Pakistan eyes Russian weapons… and here’s what Moscow has in store

PL-15 don't have the range of 300 km but 150-200 km range , your'e confusing recently tested VLRAAM or PL-XX with a range of 400 km, and thinks if we assume PL-15 have range of 300 KM then how which jet will guide it Block-3's KLJ-7a AESA will have range of 170 km, and RAFALE going to have a better RCS then rest of IAF fleets @GumNaam think about it @GumNaam :crazy::crazy:
Man what is up with you and emoticons? I thought I went over board with em!

s350 is advanced and new version of s300 with great improvement and it will be easy to acquire unlike s400 which will result in u.s sanctions
Uh, aren't these the same ones including the s400s that uncle sam made a total fool out of over Syria???

israel and u.s have much better electric warfare capability but for india this system will be good considering our economic problems and other limitations we cannot get ideal missile defense but overall according to my little understanding this systems seems to be optimal for us .May be other better options available which I not know .

and also not to forget we are more relying on fighter jets F-16/JF-17 for our air defense instead of SAMs @Yaseen1

As we have seen over the skies in the middle east, air to air defense is far more effective than ground to air defense. SAM systems are there to deter and supplement the air to air defense capabilities. Not strengthening your air to air defences vis a vis ground to air defences would be a deadly mistake.

You know what what is the layered defense is @GumNaam we need a good medium to long range SAMs coverage too (S-400/HQ-9) class, and for middle east a single country (Iraq) defending itself with 70s era's military hardware with latest western tech that why westerners achieves total air to air air dominance over Iraq @GumNaam

We have to export a few billion dollars worth of goods to Russia before we can consider arms imports. Honestly I see no reason why we can't export tropical fruits (banana's, oranges mango's) and other agricultural commodities that don't grow well in Russia's climate as well as low cost high/labor goods like garments/textiles. The cold war is over...we must boost trade with Russia and the CIS. The transactions can be in Rubles. Moscow will be happy with that (Putin hates the dollar reserve).

no I'm not saying we should not have good long range sam systems at all, I'm just saying that we should continue to keep our air to air combat capabilities on the cutting edge and not just soully rely on the ground systems, regardless of how advanced they may be.

Yes we should, but we neglect long SAMs , in our doctrine, it necessary for good layered defense @GumNaam more layered defense we will have better chances for survival from an enemy attacks @GumNaam

S400.... lots of question for this expensive toys. Pakistan will test this weapon in China against Thunder. And test Chinese SU30 against S400 . But, India will not able to test the S400 against Pak F16.

I sincerely hope that Pakistan DOES NOT go for Russian weapons that are 'Strategic' in nature - other generalized weapons are fine, like tanks for instance. I am glad that relationship between Russia and Pakistan have improved but it would be a strategic mistake to fully trust the Russians with critical weapon systems.

There are Only two countries who are true real strategic allies of Pakistan. They are China and Turkey. Hence procurement of critical items from these two countries should be the priority.

Yep

China and Turkey

We will only get basic weapons if any from Russia
