Rs500m uplift grant for each lawmaker okayed

Only dawn and geo reporting it.

Anyways, its a grant. They won't be just given PKR500m. They will have to submit proposals for required development in their constituency. Once approved they will be given the required fund for that. The PKR500m is the limit set, like credit card limit. A $3m limit.

The thread starter shared a link of Tribune.

fderal govt can lauch project in karachi becaus eprovincial govt wont let it..
provincial govt is askign for money not projects
now the amry stepped in asked sindh govt to handle the karachi waste and water board to city like it was pre 2008 but the sindh govt has renegade from its promise

whats the solution

PTI should do new census via third independent body ..this will make urban sindh share at 50-60%

second thing is what karachi people need to do, dont give 15% provincial votes to PPPP

combined with these two the next CM will be from karachi

but i expect most karachi pople will vote bhutto back..its a love hate relation ship..syed ghani says its openly..karchi walo ko PPPP is payar hey isleya mujay vote deya

You have no knowledge about Karachi politics, this is evident with this statement. FYI Bilawal Bhutto lost election from Karachi.

Well I disagreed with his stance even in his initial days. MNAs MPAs get the votes and they should have the responsibility to do work of their voters.
Still dont agree with that
Municipal organizations should deal with this instead of MNA,s MPA,s who already have dirt on their hand
Is that not what you had in Washington recently. You shifted out the orange man for walking corpse? Only differance you almost had a civil war doing it?
He is mocking Pakistan when in his own country shirtless viking clowns stormed their capital and half the country believes in Qanon BS

But if it helps PTI win the next elections, doesn't this move make strategic sense?

Absolutely. As I said earlier this is nothing but carrot being given to secure the government. You can call it corruption. But Pakistan is a mess. Preferablly the country needs a purge like General Evren did in or Gen Pinochet did in Chile or have a civil war like USA. But since Pakistan is a soft state this is not possible. This only leaves options as are being carried out by this government.

Imran Khan has learned. Although he bloody took his time over it. Two decades ago if he had been fleible, savvy and not too concerned by principles he should have accepted offer by Gen Musharaf to join his government. This is exactly what Bhuttos, Shaerifs did enabling them to consolidate power. IK instead spent two decades pissing against the wind instead of sailing with it.

Better late then never I guess.

So that would make PTI just a principal less party as the rest? Congratulations

I don't even see principles in mother of parliamant - UK or home of freedom in USA as we saw Vikings invade the capitol and the elected President being muzzled like a junkyard dog by nameless company CEO's. I am reminded of what Deng said. It does not matter if the cat is black opr white as long as it catches the mice.

My biggest issue with Zardari, Sharif's is not just that they were corrupt. Trust me we have corruption even in UK. It was the gross incompetence and failure to develop Pakistan. Sharif's have ruled Punjab for over 30 years. Bhuttos have reigned for over 30 years in Sindh. Just look at Pakistan and then even compare that with Bangladesh.

The Chinese CCP is not known for democracy, not know for being liberal, not exactly known for freedom., But by heck they have turned a famine stricken country into a global hyperpower in lesss than 35 years. That type of success supercedes other considerations.

Did you just admit that PMIK has learned to be as corrupt as his predecessors? But this is all for a good cause, right, so it must be okay?

It might but that doesn't mean I agree with it in principle

We support IK for a lot of things but that doesn't mean we support policies like this whoch make MPA,s and MNA,s way more powerful than they should be

Govt refutes reports of PM issuing uplift grant to lawmakers

PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: A five-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, took up a case pertaining to reported issuance of Rs500 million grant by Prime Minister Imran Khan to each PTI lawmaker.

The court directed the finance secretary to submit a detailed report in this regard and adjourned the hearing until Thursday (tomorrow). Over the course of the hearing, Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan termed the news report regarding Prime Minister Khan issuing Rs500 million each to PTI lawmakers fake.

Justice Qazi Faez Esa, a member of the bench, asked if the premier doesn’t want to explain his position on the matter.
“Either the prime minister would have said he sticks to his words or refuted the reports,” he said, questioning why the premier is silent on the matter.
At this, the AG said if the prime minister started issuing rebuttal on every piece of news, he won’t have anything else to do then.

The chief justice remarked that all the provinces, except Sindh, had filed their comments in the case. “No lawmaker has been given uplift funds,” he said.
The AG said the prime minister knew uplift funds can’t be misused. “No lawmaker will be given funds,” he cleared.

Qazi FE ne khoda pahar, nikla Chooha!

Dawn peddles fake news and Qazi (who is part of mafia) takes suo moto. CJP should bar this scum judge from taking up suo moto actions against government. Plenty of other SC judges to take actions, but this judge should be barred now!

Woh Bhi Mara Howa :D

Yeah ... but you were had by this fake news as well :p:
What a ridiculous suo moto this was! Why hasn't Dawn been asked to give evidence that the report was based on?

Why is the controversial judge Isa allowed to be part of the bench, since his own integrity is clouded in unexplained wealth?
