to make real progress, indians must close down those silly colleges, whether iit or whether "lovely professional university - jalandhar!!!".

if anyone has real courage, they should drop out of college or burn their ( multiple ) degrees and then start something like qnx company or spacex.

Do you really think IIT is there just for software related program. Different professionals have different aptitudes. Some are entrepreneurs by temperament, some have a technical bent of mind. Some others find number crunching easier than the rest. colleges like IITs, IIMs etc are a means to develop those abilities and make something out of it in real world.
These are the people who start companies, manage them, benefit societies, create wealth. While you make fun of these institutes (funny really), your exposure to intellect is quite limited i see. I understand you would prefer madarsa to a professional university, by all means do so.

Yeah exactly,where are the IITs? well to answer this question you need to ask yourself, Was IIT entrusted with th responsibility of providing $5bn of funding to the FAB project?NO,a big fat NO- coz they simply cant!- it is the job of the govt and the industry to provide the finances,that 2008 deal you have ben chanting like a mantra failed to materialized because of a LOT of factors mainly due to lack of dedicated $5bn to begin with and american firm IBM backing out in the middle.

fab?? a fab is a factory, which can produce processors, even foreign-designed ones... any nation can set up a factory but only a few people or groups can design a processor... design, my good sir, design of something new and appreciably unique.
