RIP: Russia and India Had Big Plans to Build a Deadly Stealth Fighter. What Happened?

what has that got to do with 'ToT'? Being screw-driver-ed in india(for the F-35??nice fantasy btw) = 'ToT'?

All your post on Indian defense matters has always been delusive and at times- self-contradictory.

I told you already, the Americans are offering it. India is not asking for it. It's the Americans who want to sell the F-35 to India.

First reported on by Stratpost.com, during a recent House Armed Services Committee hearing USPACOM boss Admiral Harry Harris Jr. is quotes as stating the following:

“At the moment, India is considering a number of U.S. systems for purchase, all of which USPACOM fully supports: the F-16 for India’s large single-engine, multi-role fighter acquisition program; the F/A-18E for India’s multi-engine, carrier-based fighter purchase; a reorder of 12-15 P-8Is; a potential purchase of SeaGuardian UAS; MH-60R multi-role sea-based helicopter; and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter...

This is India's answer.

“We have not officially asked for a briefing on the F-35 nor has any request been made to the Americans,” IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa told The Indian Express.

You are the one not looking at ground realities.

The F-35 ToT offer is from the Americans. India is not asking for it. The Americans are willing to have the F-35 produced in India if India chooses the F-16 or SH for production in India.

F-16 would be assembled in India. F-35 would be sold to India not produced in India.

US had not officially provided any transfer of any assembly line to India. A defense company official can mention it or some low level official can mention it. But only if Donald Trump say that F-16 Can be manufactured in India, than it won't happen. Trump is about made in America, more in India. As for F-35 made in India, you need to ask your grandson that question for it to be as realistic as F-16 being made in India.

So the point is that Trump himself have not personally offer to set up F-16 assembly line in India as of now. So it's not real. No matter what anyone else in American says. Even if it's someone else from its administration.

Nobody is expecting any kind of success for the American jets in India. They are too old and too outdated.

@randomradio

It was going to be expensive. IAF, the user doesnt really care about it for whatever reason. If it goes through, it'll be a political move.

do u even bother reading what u've posted yourself?? It says the F-35 might be sold to India- but where did it mention 'ToT' for it(or even F-16) would be given?

Do u even know the difference between 'ToT' and selling an aircraft off the shelf? Or even licensed production aka screwdriver assembly(Indian Su-30 is an infamous example)?

'ToT' for the F-35????

ludicrous.

Told u, your posting contents are always blindly-nationalistic, delusive self-contradictory or even outright lying. Not just here, but also in many other threads.

Eagerly waiting for ur reply to this

Freaking Indian fanboy expected US to complete transfer the F35 program for a mere 10 billions US dollars to India. F35 is a trillion dollars program, no one give away trillion dollars assets to a foreign nation.

It’s ludicrous that Indians expect TOT for F-35. Even full TOT is not realistic for F-16. India need to develop its own tech as nobody will transfer top notch engine tech to India, NOBODY.

.
So India lost 300 millions = Gone with the wind.

A country that never hesitates to get external loans (however pitifully small) for up to 40 million USD.
Such country losing 300 million just like that is a big deal whether Modi admits it or not.
It is a significant damage for a low income country as India.
Dumfuk, the UPA signed the stupid deal with Russians. We should have just bought the plane after Russian development was complete. Instead Sonia gandu wanted to make money even before the first sheet of metal was cut in 2007.
Congi bitches will never learn or acknowledge their corrupt, pathetic Italian mummy thief

The amount was paid for joint development not for procuring the fighter.

Ask the French or the Russian to completely transfer their core technology to India and both country said no to ToT of the core technology for fight jet.

When we buy stuff, it's generally in a lot of numbers. So LM intends to sell a lot of F-35s to India. Which in turn means it can only happen through license production.

Otherwise, the US is ready to sell F-35s to India in small numbers directly from their factories anytime. Particularly to the IN which are needed in small numbers.

So there are two plans:
1. Buy 2 or 3 squadrons of F-35s direct from the US.
2. Buy the F-16 or F/A-18 for license production now and then buy F-35 for license production after the F-16 or F/A-18 license production is over. Basically, LM will convert the F-16 production line into the F-35 production line at a later date.
