Rio 2016 - Team USA news and medal count

Joseph Schooling did everything right from the start, he have a good start, a good first 50, he won because of that, simply he can hang on. That was a good swim, and I don't think Phelps, Cseh and Chad le Clos will not disagree that all three deserve second.....

To be honest, Sweden play not as good as the US (Although the US team weren't playing as good as we thought as well either) the problem is that Swedish goalie is perform superbly, there are more shot on the US (27 v 6), more shot on target in favour the US 6 vs 2) and US dominate ball procession 64%, yet somehow the ball was not found on the Swedish net.

The ball game gone to penalty is totally the US fault, for that they cannot convert the chance, and when it hit penality, then it is everybody's game.

And yes, it should have been 2 - 1 in favour Sweden before penalty. But well, as I said, US dominate the whole game, just cannot convert the chances, and there were a lot of chances...

Some guys studied football games, and if there are three goals, the best team *always*
score one of the, but the other two can go to any of the team.
Sweden really scored two and had good penalty kickers.
Doubt if we can go to the final, though.

Next hope for gold is this guy! Made a 33 meter putt yesterday...

Think it's a bit more complicated than that....

Sweden play defensive tactics last night hence contribute to the low ball procession. And the problem is, while US have the tempo of the game, they cannot convert.

Team performance wise, US is better than Sweden last night, but individual performance said otherwise and that is what Sweden excel at last game, it's wasn't luck , it was pure individual skill of the Swedish goalie. She single handedly hand Sweden the victory, right down to the penalty kick.

US is a better team, but they perform badly in the game, they cannot convert, they cannot penetrate Swedish defences and that is why they lose last night.

I don't believe Sweden will win against the home team, but then we got the world cup fiasco happened in Brazil just 2 years earlier, so nothing is impossible.

The 1,000th gold is actually just for the Summer Olympics. The US holds 96 golds in Winter Olympics. We'll get to see 100 in Pyeongchang.

I felt bad for Jarrion Lawson, his last jump was perfect (except for his left hand) he would have beaten Henderson jump if he just raise his hand slightly. but instead he got a 7.78m on the last jump...

A funny comment just bought up by an Australian Commentator......

If Phelps would have perform on his own nation in this Olympic, he would have ranked 10 along with France and Hungry in the Gold Medal board. And Katie Ledecky would have been ranking 13 on the medal tally for having 4 gold medals ahead of Netherland and Spain..... and you know what, US will still be on top even if Phelps and Ledecky competing on his/her own nation (24 - 5-4 = 15) and rank number 1 with China's 15 gold medal and will rank number 1 in total medal......

That is funny.........but also true...
