Speaking about architecture, one of my most favorite architectural styles from the Middle Ages, aside from Moorish architecture, is the Arab-Byzantine-Norman one. A wonderful mixture. Art is something that can/must be enjoyed regardless of origin.

















That's a former mosque turned into a church btw. Hence the unique blends.

i think markus is partially tight , the crusades happened when egyptian bandits harassed christian pilgrims , but then they never won the crusades , the dark ages was infact a follow up to the crusades.

Well, yeah, they did. I don't think anyone disputes that. Mongols are late arrivals. And pretty much copied everyone in Central Asia.
