Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Private Limited, formerly known as the Reva Electric Car Company, is an Indian company based in Bangalore, involved in designing and manufacturing of compact electric vehicles.

It was the first company to introduce an electric vehicle worldwide. :woot:

The company's flagship EV REVAi is the world's best selling electric vehicle so far. :smitten:

Reva was acquired by Indian conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra in May 2010.

This is the power of Indian brain we have created and innovated ahead of world.

But what was lacking = huge investment:cry: now after India's M&M taking over it we are sure that sky is the limit.

I was very much interested to work in this company.... Reva in 2005... Walked up to Bommasandra in Bangalore where the company is located, But unfortunately they did not consider me! :-(

i still remember when a friend of mine had bought the Reva in 2005 , i was in Bangalore , went to check it out . while it had its plus points , i found it impractical and too small to sit me (i am kinda of tall:D) but all in all a good innovation.

There is no such thing as remote refueling.. there is tech available that allows you to charge batteries via a short electric field.
It has been tested on cellular li-ion cells whereby the battery simply rests on a metal surface and gets charged.
However.. the concept may require a lot more effort on the Indian/Desi market.
The Horrible traffic is very receptive to hundreds of emission free electric cars doing stop/start driving which is the forte of the vehicle.. but the batteries will have to be extremely robust to survive the severe conditions that is the Desi world.
Including but not restricted to : extreme heat, rain, mud, exposed electric lines, frequent accidents and the generally careless driving.

The highly anticipated remote recharging system isn't wireless or amazing. It's a roadside assistance program that allows REVive service personal to "activate a reserve amount of energy" from the batteries (via telephone or text message), to allow the driver to get to location where they can properly recharge the car. (Virtually all EVs have a reserve battery capacity that is never used, which allows for a longer battery life)
