LAHORE: Former president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf will announce the manifesto of his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) as well as date of his return to Pakistan in September, says Chaudhry Shahbaz Husain, APML chief coordinator.

At a press conference on Sunday, Mr Husain said their party had been in touch with PML-Q leaders for the last three months for a possible unification, claiming both the factions would soon assemble on a platform.

PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, however, told reporters that those talking of unification should first come back to the Q League and then discuss the issue.

Mr Husain said that they would soon call on PML-Functional chief Pir Pagaro, leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and other political parties in Sindh this month.

He said if invited the APML could join the alliance recently formed by three League factions. Factions of the League – Unification, Likeminded and Functional – announced merger last month.

Flanked by Dr Sher Afgan Niazi, Maj-Gen Rashid Qureshi (retired), Fawad Chaudhry and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Mr Husain said that Gen Musharraf would stage his comeback before general elections either ‘mid-term’ or ‘end-term’.

Perhaps the socio-economic condition including standard of living will change (Is Musgarraf ney to khana itna manga kar dia hain, eik roti 4 rupee key hai) Uffff!

But wait... We still have load shedding, in Bhakkar last time i was there it was 22hours out of 24, and those two hours use to be at odd times like 12am and 2am. or 3pm and 5 pm.

At the minute the cost of a tandoori roti is Six rupees. And ever since the azab that was Musharraf was replaced by our democratically elected "autocrats", bombings have increased by 200% - Sans Pips, Standard of Living has been reduced, load shedding has increased, fuel has become all the more expensive, even CNG has become expensive".

Yeah... Musharraf was the centre of all sins and ills in Pakistan. Enjoy your autocracy, hope it lasts a life time.

Musharraf was the darling of US. How can they harm their one true ally..! He had their guarantees when he stepped down..!

But i agree that it's not safe for him to come back. It never will be..

Too many questions for him to answer ! Too many skeletons in the cupboard !

Musharraf has neither political instincts nor popular appeal. Musharraf's crackdown on the courts and judges showed he does not respect the laws of the country. Nevertheless he has the right to come back and try to be a politician and find out for himself level of his popularity with general public. Imran Khan one the best cricketer of Pakistan has fizzled out when he tried to be a politician and now military man Musharraf will be next.
