Most of the cities are full of eatery joints ... its tough competition however this buisiness is thriving in Pakistan... Property either to rent or buy is the most expensive rest labour and ingrideints are prety cheap ... there are enuf tika and kebab places .. a fried chicken uk style might do well as there arent many.

Like Pak Marine said there is a lot of competition here when it comes to restaurants but they are thriving. Just look at the restaurants by the coast of DHA on Sea View Road in Karachi. Few years ago there was nothing there but now almost every week there is a new restaurant opening there and they are all thriving.
You probably heard about the rags to riches story about many people who suddenly got rich from selling food on a roadside stall. If I had money I would definitely invest in the food business. But come up with a new idea for a restaurant.

Stay where you are.

Competing with established locals is never easy. You might end up losing both 0 your money & peace of mind.

umm, i dont think anyone in pakistan cares about the restaurant itself and where its form, they need good and affordable food, that wud attract lots of hungry middle class people too.

.
try home delivery system.
never invest all your money.always keep some apart.
find a nice name too.

.
Just invest in energy sector - or Agriculture sector no point to waste 100,000-Million dollars in setting up business in Europe and US if there is no respect

You cant go wrong with a Tikka joint.. since there will always be people available to make good tikka and karhai..
But the competition will be high.

If I had the cash..
I always wished to open up a Sushi bar in a certain area..

Hi,

Let us know what city you are planning to go to.

Also...Tikka/Kebab is too common in Pakistan plus it is an art by itself....usually you will find that the normal road side vendors make better Tikka than fancy restaurants.....with the exception of BBQ Tonight in Karachi.....

But you will have to keep your restaurant clean and open in a location where people with money come and go....or may try opening a 'Dhabba'......

Which is what BBQ tonight was originally .. actually it was a VHS rental place.. when the guy opened up this tikka stand with it.
How fate has been kind to him.

Food is a good market as people will always eat. Cost of entry can be low depending on what project you are doing whether its a small takeaway or up market fully kitted out restaurent. In the UK i have seen problems in this market because I have notice that in some regions pakistanis tend to copy each other and often they rely on price rather anything inovative or servise to get biz. This leads to margins being eroded. Also some dont account for direct and indirect tax properly which means that if you want to run a legit operation then you are penalised to som extent. I would suggest may be in the current climate in the UK or elsewhere for you to consider health care. we have had some success as its not easy to enter market and competition is less and people allways need medecines etc and is to some degree recession proof

Try a novelty ........ a guy in my locality has come up with creating spicy Keema Pizza and Chicken Tikka Pizza..... best of both worlds. It tastes good and his business is booming.
A new idea is definitely the works.
