If SL citizens rise up against their legitimate government to support this, they will only have themselves to blame.

Sri Lanka has seen a decades long war that killed many of their heads of state and top leaders. Indian people and agencies supported LTTE. Norway tried to broker peace deals but those were never respected by the India supported LTTE. Pakistan provided military support to the Sri Lankan govt and within a very short time the backbone of Tamil terrorists was broken. So Sri Lankans should remember who their real enemies are and who supported them when they were vulnerable. They should become a part of the game staged by external forces and far-right extremists. It was not long ago that your country saw the worst terrorism. It is better to investigate and reach the real culprits and faces behind it.

Exactly, Muslims in SL, even being Tamils, supported the SL government fully and even suffered genocide by them in their loyalty to their state.

Muslim ally and friend Pakistan provided military and political support to the SL government, while many others abandoned SL or supported LTTE (like india.)

To now go after Muslims is not only disloyalty but the height of ungratefulness and hypocrisy.

I hope common sense and decency prevails in SL.

They do lean more towards China much more than the current government but I don't think there is a "pro-Chinese investment" faction in perticular. The Rajapaksas also have close ties with the BJP and the Ex-Pres Rajapaksa have even been invited to events of BJP related organisations like the Virat Hindustan Sangam. The Rajapaksas did accept investments from India even when they were bickering with the then Congress govt and with a friendly BJP govt I expect them to try and improve Indo-Lanka ties while improving ties with China
