Absolute nonsense. India can't unilaterally abrogate IWT. It can however use ALL the water allocated to it under the Treaty which it is currently not using.

Its near impossible for India to control 3 western rivers, even big dams are not possible in IoK. Ravi is only river which India can legally stop water as our genius dictator didn't think before signing that treaty. Do you understand that if India attacks pakistani dams, Pakistan will face droughts? There is very little Pakistan can do by attacking Indian dams. Unless Pakistan can fly deep inside and attack major dams like Bakra Nangal, it is indignificant to India. But in case of Pakistan, most dams are near Indian borders as Indus flows near Indian borders and hence India will find it easy to target them. If India targets these dams, entire Pakistani water supply will be destroyed and there will be nothing Pakistan could do. India can win a war with Pakistan by simply destroying most of the dams on Indus river near Kashmir and Sindh and Pakistan will simply starve to death

We have no issues if Kashmiris use the water to grow crops and eat but this can not happen in parallel with attempts to change the demographics.However the action of building canals would only be to stop water from coming into Pakistan which is stupid at best..Not just it has a cost but also the aquifers take the water back to Pakistan which is at the lower basin.

Besides Canada shouldnt be taking sides here..unless you are an Indian Canadian.

It's a small percentage of the current water from 3 waters allotted to India. In term of numbers it doesn't mean much. But political mileage to be gained by both because of this is huge.

Chenab is the river India can cut off from Pakistan. Other 2 rivers - Indus and Jhelum are in Azad Kashmir or Pakistan and hence difficult to cut off. Chenab can also give India reasonable amount of additional waters.

India can eliminate Pakistan if it wants. But India has some requirement for petroleum supply and semiconductor technology goods. The Arabs are giving free oil to India in the form of investment and remittance while China & USA are selling semiconductor chipsets and technology goods to maintain smooth functioning. Destroying Pakistan will have serious effect on petroleum supply and this is something which India would avoid as of now.
