The project is Chinese owned, Chinese financed, Chinese run, Chinese managed, Chinese controlled in its entirety and you're saying, somehow the progress was slowed by the previois Government. Where on Earth do you guys gwt these ideas from?

Chinese approached Pakistan and the previous Government facilitated them, no questions asked. The Chinese were happy and Pakistanis except PTI were ecstatic.

However, the current Government tried to blackmail China by saying these projects are not beneficial to us and if you don't pay up, we'll give the CPEC details to the Americans/IMF. The Chinese obviously offended and have backed off and they have halted (reviewing) all future projects until PTI Government (very unlikely) can be trusted again.


My personal opinion is that after 14-months, the Chinese have obviously gone cold on CPEC. The PTI Government is offering all sorts to the Chinese like CPEC Authority, extra security for the Chinese, tax exemptions for Chinese companies, etc. but they don't seem to be convinced. I suspect they're waiting for a more Chinese-friendly Government to take over in Pakistan.

PM Khan now busy with useless countless foreign tours wasting everyone's time, trying to look relevant probably knows the ghulail walas will have to let him go if this goes on for another 6-10 months, otherwise this may turn into a strategic blunder for Pakistan if China starts looking at alternatives.

Do you have a source on this? This is the first I'm hearing about this.

China will never go cold on CPEC. It's a high priority national project to them. CPEC Authority was created to prevent the corruption and malfeasance presented by the previous government. PML-N would never have agreed to it because it bypasses their channels of corruption entirely.

Whose time is he wasting exactly? The ones who invited him? I'm not surprised you didn't say he's wasting everyone's time and "money".

If it wasn't for these time wasting tours, we would have been in the FATF blacklist. We would not have the IMF package. We would not have the deferred oil payments. We would not have our renewed good relations with Malaysia and Turkey who now fully support us on Kashmir. We would be carrying out joint excercises with Russia, nor with China on the Indian border.
