.
what you guys say abut rename or restore old name of Qaddafi stadium ? its not a shame we have name of a dictator which is part of history now and killed like a dog by own people i don't think stadium deserve this bad name now . old name was lahore stadium or rename it to any pakistani hero name . how can we rise our voice which reach to PCB officials ?
originally Lahore Stadium, the facility was renamed in 1974 in honor of the former Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi rename qaddafi stadium
On 23 October 2011 the Pakistan Cricket Board discussed renaming the stadium following the death of Gaddafi, to support the new government in Libya. The Punjab Olympic Association made a similar request in late October 2011 to the provincial chief minister, "I don't think his profile is inspirational enough to link with our cricket stadium's identity." As of April 2012, however, it does not appear that the stadium's name will be changed after all.

How about

SHARIF BHUTTO KHAN ZARDARI
:-)

In that case we will get funds from every Govt.

.
How about lakhvi stadium or
Hafiz saeed stadium.
It may burn 1.25 billion ***.....es.
Just kidding

i was wondering which misguided soul had put out this statement... it turned out to be you. :o:

since when did you join the "sharif brothers combine" to be talking of such things?? i know that punjab government of shabaz and its patron saint, nawaz, wanted to please the western governments and the mullahs in 2011 by changing the name.

dictator, you call him... why??

have i not put enough information about the libyan jamahiriya system?? the present pakistani system or the american political system is not democratic... the libyan jamahiriya was real democracy and the closest in the present world to true communism.

the venezuelans are replicating the libyan experiment by re-creating their society into "communes" that are self-governing decentralized communes which build up to make their society a direct-democracy... it is happening... i urge you to just google... and would you call the great veneulan/latin-american leader, hugo chavez, as dictator too, for he was a comrade-leader of muammar gaddafi??

nelson mandela, after he was released from robben island prison, his first outside visit was to the libyan jamahiriya to meet "brother-leader muammar gaddafi", ignoring and refusing the dictates of the western leaders... would you call nelson mandela a dictator too??

muammar gaddafi, though he made one or two mistakes, is among the finest philosophers and leaders in history... it is sad that since his visit to pakistan in 1974, pakistan did not turn to the green socialism of libya.

there was a ussr edition of gaddafi's "green book" to urge ussr to move forward in its communist experiment climbing the steps leading to true communism... do you think pakistan in its 68 years was greater than ussr??

muammar was a revolutionary who supported all the freedom-loving groups in the world, from asia to africa to western europe to south europe to latin america... you can read on this.

and "killed by his own people", you say... since when did pakistani/afghani taliban become "his own people"?? since when did qataris become "his own people"?? since when did belgian special force become "his own people"?? since when did hamas become "his own people"?? since when did the thousands of international dogs who invaded libya in 2011 and 2012 become his bluddy own people??

i am the most independent-minded person and i say that it would be extremely wrong to suggest the idea of renaming the stadium... instead, the gaddafi stadium should be turned away from kirket to become a mini-forest and mini-lake, with the stands retained to deliver speeches... that would be befitting the name.

you can also read fatima bhutto's book, "songs of blood and sword", as to how gaddafi and the then syrian president, hafiz al-assad, helped two pakistanis who did something while many others slept... mir murtaza bhutto and shahnawaz bhutto. :)

despite my words if you want it be renamed as "noora di nazar stadium", by all means, do so... make obama happy... make sarkozy and hollande happy... make abdullah's soul happy... make cameron happy... make al-thani happy.

@jamahir will kill you imran Jee. That's blasphemy for him.

my people are hunting for him as we speak.

I think rename it to Malala stadium .

malala is a great person, more contributing to society than most... but there are many more structures to be renamed or constructed in her name. :)

Name aside but,
This gaddafi speech in syria (2008) was very much accurate
checkout the beghariti of all Arab leaders:

that kind of speeches are not made very often... muammar gaddafi was a transnational leader and revolutionary... in another capacity, he was/is also the "imam of all muslims".

and indeed, look at those gulf leaders, in fact all those arab leaders, laughing, making silly faces... especially note that fool qatari emir, laughing as if listening to stand-up comedy.

his speech at the start speaks of the israel-palestine issue and essentially narrates how the arab leaders did not allow the issue to be solved.

but note at the end of the speech how some of these leaders become alert, emotional and listening.

if only i could speak like that...

comrade @jamahir ... this thread needs you.

arrived and speaking. :enjoy:

Name it vettimuny attapattu stadium to condemn the attack on Srilanka team.

that would be a good thing to do, though with a different stadium.

There is no need to change the name. He was good to Pakistan and people of Libya were living a way better life then the chaos they are dealing with due to engineered civil war.

good point, sir... though it was not a "civil war" at all but one of the biggest conspiracies in history... 35+ nato militaries invading plus their terrorist vanguard, is not civil war. :)

We must stand on our feet now and stop behaving like little kid waking behind his dad.
Dad says look kidi he's bad. Kid replies yeah papa he is very bad.

you have given the name now no need to change it.

Lol man. Malala go to ****. We don't need her or name any of our place on her name.

south asia needs malala.

Why should we rename it? He was a shaheed. He opposed the oppressors. Libya had one of the highest living standards in Africa. In the second Islamic summit in Lahore 1974, he named Pakistan the fort of Islam. Now why would we rename it? If the west wanted him out and killed then he was probably a good man.

if it was about stadium, then you may call it "stadium no. 4" or something like that... but let us not disrespect those who did more for humanity than most others put together.

.
It should be renamed on someone like Mehmood Gaznavi, Shar Shah Suri, Tipu Sultan, or on name of some Mughal Emperor. Or if you want some modern name then name it "Raheel Sharif". :p:

Lol man. Malala go to ****. We don't need her or name any of our place on her name.
Lahore international stadium is the best name .

.
Yeah but some people won't be happy cause he's not a "son of the soil"
Wot???
Liaqat Ali khan was not son of soil?
A man who started Diplomatic relations with Communist block Soviet union and China And at the same time Armed Pakistan Armed forces to teeth by Massive military aid. Without taking sides between Soviet and western Block. He was a diplomatic genius.
Ayub Khan Fucked Pakistan big time after U2 spy plane shit.
