we signed a treaty with them years ago and even though they belligerently attacked us 3 times after the signing of the treaty we have never diverted the waters and even today the Pakistani establishment with its proxies and support for terrorism in India we still have not diverted the waters.

although its one hell of a way to black mail and possibly get them to stop they're proxies inside of India.

China certainly don't lost appetit to dam Brahmaputra, one stone two birds: generate electricy and add valve to regulate the water flow...yes there is possible earth quake..it's bit risky but worthed.

Okay, Mekong river flowing from China through Laos, Thani,Cambodia, Vietnam. When Mekong river got block, all farmers job, fisher mens will badly damaged. Countries like Vietnam like Cambodia, Lao are mainly farmers. No modern technologies at this moment, maybe in a future.

It's interesting that Chinese vice minister spoke of no "diversification" plan on Brahmaputra, yet Indian press reports no "diversion" plan. One point overlooked is that "diversion" can happen not just by rerouting a river but by building large storage-type dams that siphon waters
