It is a part of a “fourth generation,” or 4G, of wireless-communication technology,

Whether India has it or not - It does not matter. What matters is that i wanted to clarify to Indians that Just because Pakistan does not have 3G Currently it does not mean we don't have any other fast internet.

That would be HSPA+ or LTE.Telenor Pakistan has all infrastructure in place for 3G now they just require License from our government which by all account is trying to mint huge amount of money from this license deal.

Clarification when we talk about 3 G or 4 G we are talking about mobile phones right? Some of your post is giving me different impression.

Also even US does not have full 4 G, they are getting there, but yet to finish.
4G also has 2 variants.
HSPA+ which is 3G plus around 1.5 mbps.
LTE which is true 4G 6 mbps.

If Pakistan had LTE on mobile then I salute them.

Pakistan does not have 3G,and hope they don't get it..Its a failed technology, thats why so quick switch over to 4g.

It's implementation is well on course and we'll see a full fledge operating network Inshallah in March-April 2012. Two Pakistani networks will be submerged into other networks namely Warid and Zong, and as a result 4G (Limit Term Evolution) devices will be installed and the networks will only pay for 4G's license, hence they get 3G license for free.
