Recognising Taliban govt was Pakistan’s mistake: Musharraf

It's clear as day as to why Pakistan recognized the murderous Taliban regime in Afghanistan. For 'strategic depth' against India. Pakistan had by then become paranoid about its security vis a vis India. It needed a pliable govt in Afghanistan which would bow to the wishes of the Establishment to ensure security of its Western borders.

For this to happen, the Pakistani Establishment did all it could to support and recognize the illegitimate Taliban govt.

Why couldn't the Pakistani establishment just improve its ties with all sides in Afghanistan specially the Northern Alliance? Why the need for funding and training of Taliban? I swear to God the idiots sitting in Islamabad are retards. That's what happens when you change your capital from a large educated city to some hills near villages. The input of bureaucrats were mostly paindus who got filthy rich due to the capital being shifted next to their villages.

Not to mention, ideological compatibility. Those were the days when any bearded barbarian with a kalashnikov was worshipped by Pakistanis, as being glorious islamic warriors. Only recently did it start becoming apparent, what the worship of murderous ideologies leads to. Before 2003, before bombs started going off in Pak, the taliban was a pure version of a sharia state that many Pakistanis want.

Getting Taliban in power has its own benefits for Pakistan.. One of our Afghan member @ahmed once posted that most of the office jobs were done by Pakistanis in Afganistan during that time.. That was one of the reason common people in Afghanistan hated your country..

It is difficult to improve ties with people you spent decades killing. All through the Afghan wars, the talibani alliance was supported by Pakistan with men (SSG), money, material and training. How do you expect the NA to look at Pak kindly after that?

I meant why did we even support Taliban to begin with? Oh wait I forgot, Marde-Momin Zia was a USA stooge. Still not too late to repair ties with Afghanistan although it will take a long time.

can you show me one example where iqbal disrespected socialism?? or spoke of anything but respect for socialism??
first define socialism for me in simple words, as i might have misunderstood it, is it the thing which was in the USSR? that says that religion is useless

@seiko and @ranjeet

despite the coins issued in the libyan jamahiriya and despite the more recent "gold dinar" idea, i have been proposing eradication of money system... everything must be available to anyone on the basis of socialist credos... "from each according to his capacity, to each according to his need" and "one who produces, can consume"... money is unnatural and unnecessary, in fact anti-humanity.

Ok, but let's not digress from the topic any further.

socialism in simple words... "system that forwards cause of justice, freedoms and progress... system that acts against traditional structures that promote oppression through money, religious mysticism and culture... system that forwards common sense and scientific spirit... and the system that seeks to bring the communist humanity".

communism in simple words... "the ideal near-future human-wide society where governments have fallen, militaries have been disbanded and people rule themselves".

ussr was a good experiment and progression towards the true communist society, but it got stuck in one-party dictatorship... the libyan jamahiriya was the next progress... there was a soviet edition of the libyan "green book", to urge the ussr to move towards true communism.

one clear socialist/communist manifesto of modern times... ( Refworld | Libya: Great Green Charter of Human Rights of the Jamahiriyan Era ).

the next step towards true communism would be jamahiriya society but with money system eradicated.

where does Islam stand on all of this?

where does Islam stand on all of this?

islam and the teachings of jesus are early socialism... which is why neither iqbal nor nasser had any disagreements or contradictions being socialist or "muslim" at the same time.
