I have been in the O & G industry and had an opportunity to talk to a person who I know is on the Procurement side in the biggies .
He had stated a few things which I will share .
1) end 2013- mid 2014 onwards,the Dow will collapse exponentially something like 3,000 .
2) This will be due to destruction of oil facilities in the Gulf in the crossfire between the Iranian/syrian faction and the NATO-Gulf led faction when invasion/attack takes place by end 2013-mid 2014
3) Gold and oil will skyrocket during this period and dollar will collapse in value
4)Iran and Syria might be even stepping stones /prelude for a world war with Russia.
5) Indian,Chinese and other south asian govts will have great trouble and might have to resort to rationing of fuel.The most logical solution they might implement is use of CNG (via shale gas,coal bed methane,imports of LNG from Russia,Australia,Indonesia).
6) Qatar's infrastructure will be totally destroyed in the coming crossfire and will lose its Ras Laffen facility,oil terminals and its GTL plants.
7) Saudi Arabia will be balkanized in coming years.
8) American and European people are going to be reduced to squalor in coming years and be not surprised if majority of US looks like Rio De Janeiro or Dharavi in coming years
But on the good side for India:
1)He expects unconventional gas to be China and India's saving grace.
2)massive offshore hydrocarbon presence in Bay of Bengal will be brought online .
But the biggest beneficiary of the coming crisis will be the US elite and Russia .US govt debts will be negated in the coming crossfire and the industrial capacity of the Arabs and Chinese,Indians will be exponentially harmed and US has massive unconventional light oil reserves in the Permian,Bakken,Eagle Ford shales. Russians will also benefit as they will have the chance to be biggest exporter of oil and gas.
