I have always wondered why Sardar Patel and Nehru didnot annexe Nepal

When we can annexe Hyderabad, Junagarh, Goa. We even Annexed Sikkim which is Buddhist and Kashmir valley which was Muslim majority and 500 other small princely states,
why was Nepal left alone
Nepal is totally dependent on India, its people are Culturally same
It had a Hindu ruling family and a 98% Hindu Population
If Nepal was Annexed in the 1950s, no one in the international community would have raised a voice since it would have been no different from Annexation of Kingdoms of Rajputana

Sikkim is Hindu majority because of Nepal immigration.

Also Kashmir was not annexed, it was signed off by it ruler.

Annexation happened on the premise, i.e how many people in that part wanted to join India.

If cultural similarity was the base, entire Indian Subcontinet is cultural similar.
