We are planning to have at least 8-10 Amphibious Assault Ships.
The plan is to purchase 3-4 of the WASP class and eventually design our own afterwards.
The JMSDF and the USN have talked about the up and coming America-Class Amphibious Assault Ship. So , we can chose to purchase those new ones as well.
Basically, the United States is very helpful in our navy's needs.

Absolutely. The Osprey was designed to be modular. If the intent is to extend air surveillance range beyond the current self defense capability, think of an AWACS Osprey with its ability to land at practically any futbol size field that can be cleared by army troopers overnight anywhere.@gambit can these V-22s be used as AWACS & MPA if yes then they can be game changer for many nations, because countries like Pakistan may be able to afford medium size helicopter carrier with V-22 and possibly F-35Bs to project power at sea in future.
Japan will repeat history again when it will humilate the Muslim oppressor again.

700 American Helicopters Shot Down By Viet-Cong In 1 Week
VIETNAM (February, 1971) In one of the biggest American military failures ever, more than 700 helicopters were shot down by the North Vietnamese as the U.S. and their ARVN allies tried to close down the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos by attacking it.
Total helicopters destroyed in the Vietnam War was 5,086 out of 11,827
Based on a database from the Pentagon, we estimate that over 40,000 helicopter pilots served in the Vietnam War.
