It is clear that the Pakistani establishment's view - i.e. the view of the army and ISI - on America is taking a shift after this incident. All this info would only be leaked to the press if it were allowed to by the army and the ISI. The fact that it has been leaked to the press suggests that army and ISI now have a good piece of evidence as to who was supporting the TTP and LeJ, and that Pakistani-American relations have taken a serious hit. A group such as TTP which had taken a serious beating in the recent years and basically having no "safe haven" to work with still being able to carry out terrorist attacks so frequently raised questions as to whether it is being supported in more direct ways than just financially.

It's not just the view anymore that Davis was a CIA spy and was getting intelligence for drone attacks. Even foreign journalists are now conceding that there's a lot more to this guy than American government says.

Let me remind everyone how hard US has pushed to get this guy released:

Today, according to this SVR report, this most critical of situations became even worse when a Pakistani judge refused to bow to American pressure and ordered a further 14-day detention of Davis, and which sparked an immediate threat from US National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, who told Pakistani envoy Hussain Haqqani that the Obama administration will “kick him out of the US”, close American consulates in Pakistan and cancel President Zardari’s upcoming visit to Washington if their CIA spy wasn’t released immediately.

What it seems is that conspiracy theorists have got one right, yet again, and it is the anti-conspiracy theorists that had their heads buried in the sand, and were deluded. Everything that was called a conspiracy theory, and everything that conspiracy theorists pointed out - Blackwater, support for TTP, attempts to take nukes out of Pakistan - looks to be coming true.

Hi,

Seemingly the americans are a tad bit confused about understanding the sentiments of the pak public---what the pakistanis think about Hussain Haqqani the ambassador and shutting down the consulate.

At first---and specially to our colleague godlax---pak don't give a rat's arse about the pak ambassador---they care less if the u s shuts down its consulate----they would rather the u s does shut it down and go away from islamabad.

Pakistanis are growing into the tunisian fruit vendor's position----enough of humiliation---no more. The Zardari and Gilani govt's days are numbered now---. If you don't have nothing---then what is there to lose----.

Will ISI start supporting Afghan Taliban now, and that too on a big scale? I really hope so.

Nadeem "Fruitcake" Paracha is unable to string two sentences together without mentioning Islam or mullah in it somewhere.

I always disliked this "fruitcake". A guy who is always proud to be pathetic. Not to forget it was this moron who called Pakistanis as cockroaches after Sialkot lynching incident.

If Zardari and Gilani are able to get this guy out of Pakistan, it might actually trigger protests that results in the two dogs & parasites getting kicked out of Pakistan. It might be the most unpopular decision made by a ruling government in a long, long time.

This incident has gotten quite a relatively low coverage in the US and North America. Any guesses as to why?

Hi,

Well you have to look at it this way---Zardari needs a place to hide now----dubai maynot be safe---and after what Gilani's son has been involved in---Mr Gilani needs to find a home as well---but not neccessarily.

Now as far as why the american media has not covered it much---they are open and honest when they want to---firstly, they are unable to fathom out the position of Davis as of now---secondly---they may have recieved their orders from the state to not discuss the issue. Thirdly---they are tired of afghanistan---they are getting tired of Obama as well----. Due to the sensitivity of the issue, the govt does not want the media to jump on pakistan now----but wait till they get Davis out of pakistan---the fangs will grow.

Once they start up on the case---the tv news will have to do due dilligence in reporting of the matter and the dirt that has been buried as of now---would come out in the U S media regarding Davis---. So---that won't help the other operators operating in the theatre.

Let's look at what's happened in the US. You guys know about Operation Northwoods? If not, look it up on google. It was a planned false-flag terrorist attack prepared by US military and CIA on US citizens. The objective was to start a war on Cuba by blaming the attack on Cuba. It was nearly implemented, except JFK vetoed it. What happened to JFK? The fact that his killers never got caught suggests he was killed by CIA and US military complex for rejecting operation northwoods. Ever since, the presidents have been the puppets of these multinational corporations and military complex. It is no coincident that US has been sponsering terrorism throughout the globe ever since and this is just the latest terrorism carried out by US that was exposed.

We should be more fair minded about this.

The rest of us can offer our fatwas without concern, but the head of the government has to balance the real consequences against public sentiment.

What's good is that we have the internet now, which makes the tv media almost a secondary source of news. I am sure this news is getting through to Americans on websites the visits, forums they go to, etc.

Lol Indian trolls? Im pure American, would you like me to take a picture with your name written on a piece of paper next to my Mercades next to my $750,000 mansion? I will gladly do that for you :)

You wont find those in India :)

yes do that. make sure the mansion doesnt belong to hollywood star

there is a news story in Daily Pakistan Peshawar where it is claimed that the real name of Davis is Eric Prince

lets see what is coming out further

This is ISI's chance to clampdown on terrorist attacks that are probably responsible for 95% of the terrorist attacks. Obviously the strategy would be to go after the terrorist that Raymond is in contact with, and then interrogate those guys to find out what's really up. Some 30 suspects have been arrested in Rawalpindi. That might just be the start of it.

Yeah, when it does receive coverage the news report is brief. News media here is focusing on misc. stories. I think if Keith Olbermann was still at MSNBC he would have given it good news coverage on his show. He's the one who interviewed Jeremy Scahill whose book exposes BlackWater. In that interview Olbermann and Scahill did focus on BlackWater involvement in Pakistan.
