But sir in your Milltary wisdom, why would we provide them SA 7 that would be stupid as IA use them.
we could provide them other AA bought from 3rd party just like Kashmiri terrorist use 3 rd party weapons like LAW.
that is true but then again plausable deniability , they could get it from third parties lioke Arabs too
Some Indians make a valid point that assisting TTP is like assisting LeT so its unthinkable but when you look at the news where British soldiers confiscated Iranian supplied shoddy mortars and sub machine guns from Afghan taliban then you wonder how a country that has seen its diplomats lynched by these madmen can supply them with weapons?
any way such weapons wont have any serial numbers or anything that can be traced back to inda
this is what was done while your conciliates were equipping Mukti bahani but at the height of the conflict such precautions were discarded since the country was already lost to Pakistani forces even before your forces crossed over the international borders into east Pakistan unopposed and greeted by friendly insurgents.
lets not stress too much on MANPADs they are just one little aspect of the entire operation to fund and supporting an insurgency. the amount of SEMTEX we recovered during Sawat operation was so large that even our own facturoes couldnt produce such quantity and it appeared that it was shipped in the country due to its sheer size that ran in tons which is impossible to produce in a basement or a cave it was definitely provided by a state (any stateif Not India) to help produce the IEDs
most of the weapons as you say are untraceable are of the type that are easily available in black market and mostly of soviet origin so no chance of tracing back to any particular country. in Syria the terrorists are using Chinese SAMs and I fear that Saudis might have provided our own MANPADs they bought from us and the terrorists in Syria have the help of TTP there as well who have only gone there to kill shias and they might bring them back those anti aircraft weapons using the same route they used to get there.
let these discussions flow and dont get too defensive, just allow the differing views and make your own point sometimes its even more fun playing the devils advocate it takes out the tension and hostilities among members and you can take things more easily
take care and thanks for engaging
