Previously unseen footage has emerged from the Sinai Peninsula showing ISIS fighters wreaking havoc on the Egyptian Armed Forces, inflicting dozens of casualties and seizing loads of military equipment.

The footage seems to confirm many of Amaq News’ reports, including one instance of ISIS insurgents seizing a tank from the Egyptian Army.

Somehow they are restricted on which weaponry they use, but the problem with Egyptian army, as I see it, is too heavy and having difficulties to adapt to a new form of war. They still believe in soviet era tactics, which may work in a conventional war, but not in guerilla warfare..

That's exactly what happened with the Pakistani army, around 10 years ago. The army was not geared towards fighting such insurgencies. After a decade, lots of lives lost and sheer raw experience, the army has finished them off. They conduct attacks here and there e.g. suicide bombers, no more big ambushes, movements, holding land etc.

Amazing you are comparing the two on the same plate? I wonder if Egypt was hit like Syria now, but with no help from the Russian, all arab states helping the terrorist, all the foreign embassies closed and moved to Tunisia, and on top of that a world embargo! Despite that, we dried our tears, whipped our blood from our bodies and we went after them..We didn't have to bomb our cities, we didn't have to massacre our innocent population and dress them as terrorists..Algeria broke their back and showed the resilience and the love that Algerian have for their country and their freedom...Hope you do the same...

Help of the IDF and the U.S? There are no IDF or U.S troops in the Sinai

Frankly with the economic troubles of Egypt and it's corruption in the Armed forces, I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't operate very well against a terrorist group.

although I dont have much to respect about Arab armies but we Pakistanis also cant be smug about it. like our general population that has radicalized people in it who are seduced by takfiri propaganda.

few years back during our former chief on weeds in army there were people who willingly surrendered to terrorists who went on to execute soldiers who belonged to wrong faith groups. there is video of entire unit laying its weapons to terrorists without a fight.. and that is disgusting and all other stories of selfless sacrifice and valor and forgotten as they dont have matching videos made by the terrorists

sorry I find it unbearable to watch these videos where this terror group is winning. it is constantly armed and funded by Saudis and Americans (oops we did it again moment when the weapon drops repeatedly end in the hands of Daesh ... how "unfortunate" .. and Saudis never made any secret about sharing the same faith and ideology and auctioning bombers for the Daesh cause)

They probably unloaded all it's weapons on it and were planning on turning it around anyway.
