In recent times, there have been allegations of wholesale rape against Awami League leaders and workers. If we look at the history, we will see that all the incidents of rape that have not happened in the history of this land since the liberation war have been happening in the hands of this Awami League. Even after a great people's war like the war of liberation, the Awami League formed an independent Bangladesh government with those who were elected for the National Assembly of Pakistan without forming any national government and established an ignorance by destroying all the achievements of the liberation war one by one. Not only that, in an independent country, Awami terrorism and oppression get a new dimension.
Towards the end of the War of Liberation, Mujib's forces entered the Chittagong Hill Tracts with the Indian Special Frontier Force. Members of the 'Mujib Bahini' and members of the 'Special Frontier Force' entered Panchhari in the Chittagong Hill Tracts from the Indian state of Tripura through various border crossings with India. A group of Chakmas went to greet them. They also took a khasi with them. These members of 'Mujib Bahini' and 'Special Frontier Force' took the khasi but killed all the people who welcomed them. They then started attacking the hill villages of Panchhari. The house was looted and set on fire. He kills whoever he finds in front and rapes the girls. Their attack killed 32 people in Panchhari that day. On the way from Panchhari to Khagrachhari, they set fire to 16 houses. On December 14, they also killed 22 people. Mujib's forces were present in the Chittagong Hill Tracts with the Indian army during this brutal atrocity. How much?
Although we won the war and became independent on December 16, 1971, on the same day, the pro-Pakistan minority Bihari community was systematically murdered, raped and looted in 110 cities. Many Bengali families could not stop the brutal killing of many Urdu speakers even by sheltering some frightened and fleeing non-Bengalis. This is how the glory of victory tarnished the Awami League.
Then the law and order situation and democracy in the independent country deteriorated to such an extent that at midnight on February 21, 1973, when everyone was gathering at the Shaheed Minar to pay their respects to the language martyrs, Awami thugs repeatedly attacked the women and hijacked and raped two young women. He was brought to the hospital in a semi-conscious state. This is the first time that Awami activists have raped a Shaheed Minar in an independent country.
Due to the holiday on that day, I am presenting to the readers the report on the front page of Ittefaq on 23rd February.
'Ekushey February, '73. The reverence, the sacred feeling, the young and old of the capital gathered at the Shaheed Minar that day, the heinous activities of a class of unruly youth not only weighed that mind but also the holy altar of the Shaheed Minar, the holy memorial day of Immortal Ekushey. The girls have been repeatedly attacked, the safety, dignity and honor of many women have been destroyed, and two young women have been taken to hospital in a semi-conscious state after being 'hijacked' from the foot of the Shaheed Minar. In the overall situation, the only question that has stirred everyone's mind time and time again is law and order, civility, decency where there is a class of young people, where there is filth instead of commemorating the holy footsteps of the Shaheed Minar. The sanctity of this day is a kind of beast,
There was no investigation into that incident. Because, the young people who caused it were threatened to cut their tongues if they said anything publicly.
After the war of liberation, the guards, mainly composed of Mujib's forces, were also involved in rape. Surrounding the entire village with curfew, the force began searching for weapons, 'miscreants' and 'political opponents' and at one stage recovered so-called 'fake ration cards'. In the process, they recklessly kill, plunder, and even rape.
Former AIG Shafiqul Islam was the OC of a police station during the rule of Sheikh Mujib. He has recorded the incident of rape of Awami League workers on the minority community in his published book immediately after the liberation war. Note that Shafiqul Islam himself was a freedom fighter. The description of his book is as follows:
One evening Shafiqul Islam was working at the police station. At that moment, a middle-aged Hindu gentleman suddenly entered his room, silently hugged his legs and said in a tearful voice,
- Save me, sir.
The purpose of her suppressed cries is for others to know. Because if the news of his coming to this police station reaches the ears of the oppressive new powers, the consequences will be more terrible. Shafiqul Islam reassured him.
- Tell your problem without fear.
- Sir, if they find out, they will kill me.
- If I can't provide any security for you and the people, do I need to stay here? Tell me, what is your problem?
Shafiqul Islam reassured with determination.
The gentleman began to speak. He was an established businessman from a growing Hindu family in this town. The Pak army and its accomplices set fire to his house and business. He grew up in the house of a poor relative with his sleeping daughter. Every night some Awami League thugs go to that house and brutally torture my daughter. I was helpless and helpless and informed the president of Thana Awami League. But he could not give any solution. Sir, what shall I do now? '
Those whose names he mentioned, they are Awami League. Those who know how to move now. They had established monopoly power over all matters with such ferocity that no legal force could defeat them.
Anthony Mascarenhas in his book Bangladesh: Blood Debt says he cites a specific factor behind Sheikh Mujib's ultimate resentment as influential: Mozammel, a young Awami League leader in Tongi, after he picked up a newlywed housewife and killed her driver and husband. Kidnaps him. After three days of gang-rape and murder, his bloody body was left on the street. Major Nasser Mozammel was arrested and handed over to the police, who released him immediately. At that time many people thought that he was released from the punishment of crime only with the intervention of Sheikh Mujib. This incident is mentioned by Humayun Ahmed in his novel Deyal. When Mozammel was released, he invited Major Nasser to his house to eat ripe jackfruit. Many identify Mozammel as a powerful leader in the current Awami government.
Following that tradition, Jahangirnagar University BCL leader Manik celebrated the 100th rape by wearing a pendulum.
Today's Awami Leaguers are following the record of women being tortured during the Awami period. Even the oppressive rapists of that day are in power today. As you can see, there is no difference between what happened today and what happened today. Rape is also a tradition with many traditions of Awami League, so during Awami period rapists get bumper yield and they all get shelter in Awami League.
