NY & LA for quality of life? Certainly this dude never drove in Bronx or I-10. I can give exception to NY because of public transport, LA smog and traffic. any american citie should just be deleted from that list, pick almost any major city in america and compare it to tokyo when it comes to murders and crimes, who would top the list? i personaly would rather live in russia than usa when it comes to safety, because i dont know if the person walking next to me carries a gun?

This is Silly season of well lets say sour grapes. US has beautiful cities and as far as crime rate goes, I would suggest to watch "Freakanomics" to see how Tokyo police department achieves 96% conviction rate in murders. May be Tokyo is really safe. I am happy that haters like you stay out of US, I would be more sure that the person next to me is not carrying a bomb.

i've been to paris lots lots time`(2-3 times every year) and i think its overrated``amsterdam is way much better..
chinese cities need to deal with pollution first in order to catch up, but those political freedom and censorships are irrelevant to me`

actually i dont think we chinese will ever get among the top 10 in quality of life, even if we had personal and political freedom, censorship, personal security, crime, political stability, health facilities, public services and transport, culture and liesure, climate, quality of environment. the problem is the life in major chinese cities is so hectic, every one have to work so hard, we just dont have time to enjoy them.
