Rankings: Top 25 global cities of 2011

.
Poison, I really do pity you. So your source of Pride is number of Billionaires. You sure must love Oligarchies. Unless you belong to one of those 66 families that own 33% of India, I cannot help myself. This absolute concentration of wealth in the hand of few individuals.

I live in one of the cities that ranks below Mumbai, that city will screw Mumbai a zillion times over, in terms of quality of life for average person.

good`agree with u``

.
as if cursing your country on a forum is gonna do any good !! come out of your shell and do social work if you really wanna have sustainable development !! i dont see a point in discussing how unequal distribution of wealth in my country is !! will it do any good to the poor ?? and these millionairs do make me proud !! they are the source of ample of employment and much more !!

and also the way they getting rich is fully covered`Veritas is not crushing his own country but to be realistic.. he is out his shell but you are saidly`

This list is 100% Bull load.

Political Power

1.Washington, D.C.
2.New York
3.Brussels
4.Beijing
5.London
6.Paris
7.Tokyo
8.Cairo
9.Istanbul
10.Mexico City

Brussels at higher position then London, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo

.
This list is bullcrap. Tokyo is far better than New York any day and should rank number 1. What about Shanghai, Seoul and Singapore? They should rank at least rank 5,6 and 7? And there's no mention of Delhi and Mumbai at all in any of the main categories. Funny they take such Stupid assessments first and despite all their think tanks and literal tanks they cannot defeat a bunch of ragtag militants in Afghanistan borders.

. . .
Can't believe Shanghai ranked below Beijing. That's not the impression I have of the two cities.

Quality of Life

1.Paris
2.Berlin
3.Toronto
4.Frankfurt
5.London
6.Zurich
7.Tokyo
8.Munich
9.New York
10.Los Angeles

Paris has been plagued by ethnic riots, has massive ghettos on its outskirts that are no go zones, is massively overpriced and has immense traffic problems and makes it to number one. I stopped believing in these "rankings" years ago.

As for London, being born and raised there I have to say that was the joke of the century. The native population is fleeing London to experience a better quality of life. All that is left behind is the financial centre, where people commute in, third world ghettos packed full of asylum seekers, mainly Kurds, Somalis and Afghans and world class shopping areas, which are again centrally located and don't represent London as a whole. Oh you also have the landmarks.

NY & LA for quality of life? Certainly this dude never drove in Bronx or I-10. I can give exception to NY because of public transport, LA smog and traffic. Just like I said, an overpaid and underworked idiot. He must have based his quality of life stats based on the hookers he met in these places.

any american citie should just be deleted from that list, pick almost any major city in america and compare it to tokyo when it comes to murders and crimes, who would top the list? i personaly would rather live in russia than usa when it comes to safety, because i dont know if the person walking next to me carries a gun?

This is Silly season of well lets say sour grapes. US has beautiful cities and as far as crime rate goes, I would suggest to watch "Freakanomics" to see how Tokyo police department achieves 96% conviction rate in murders. May be Tokyo is really safe. I am happy that haters like you stay out of US, I would be more sure that the person next to me is not carrying a bomb.

.
i've been to paris lots lots time`(2-3 times every year) and i think its overrated``amsterdam is way much better..
chinese cities need to deal with pollution first in order to catch up, but those political freedom and censorships are irrelevant to me`

actually i dont think we chinese will ever get among the top 10 in quality of life, even if we had personal and political freedom, censorship, personal security, crime, political stability, health facilities, public services and transport, culture and liesure, climate, quality of environment. the problem is the life in major chinese cities is so hectic, every one have to work so hard, we just dont have time to enjoy them.
