to be honest Makarov is a great gun for CCW and that 9 x18 has enough power to stop the assailant however but ammunition can be an issue, these days is available in Peshawar and Kohat, but not much stock in Twin cities, if stock gets dried up, you will see the hike in prices. Last year i was planning to get Makarov but after all of thought process and looking at my budget and i ended up with Tokarev 9mm a local made clone of Norinco 213, it is full size gun with manual safety and a potent round of 9mm which we have in abundance.....it is single stack so very slim profile.....

I had the Mak 12 shot that was not bad as CCW (grip was thicker than 8 shot but very comfortable to shot), very accurate pistol due to fixed barrel. Ammo was issue then too so bought a few hundred chinese rounds, S&B were just rip-off prices back then too. Gifted it to an LEA friend who needed a CCW. Shot a local 9mm Tokarev, have they nailed down the local barrels as that was one part the local production wasn't up to par?

there are few pieces still around the block but prices are insanely high, 230k for CZ Phantom or shadow, 150k for a CZ p07 duty, Norinch NP42, NP22, for 85-96k......

Wow - that's some increase! Norincos were around 40K back then, more than double now! I had the CZ Tactical Sport for keeps but it was stolen by a close 'friend' - one of my favourite.

with regards to AK 47 license then you are luck and unlucky at same time....

Lucky then.

From badar and brothers, Insaaf Shah Arms and moon star arms, it is indeed reliable.....in the hands of Army Range Master, he used my tokarev at 25 mtrs to make close groups on target......latter we used it to break a brick in half and then the half was split into half further......all at 25 mtrs.... I have fired some 400 rounds through it and all kind of shit and it just eats them up.....for home defense o have ez9, 1911, Ak74, and dsa trushot....

Very nice collection for HD.

Hopefully will get to shoot the 9mm Tok some day. Moon Star definitely rings a bell ...

1911 - had the Taurus one but sold it. Didn't really enjoy shooting it.

EZ9 - these are very reliable pistols.

DSA Trushot - shot one of the very first batch (before it was available to public) and found this to be a good pistol with no FTE and FTF. Accuracy wise I found it to be OK, better than Stoeger Cougar but not comparable to any of the CZ based Canik pistols. I still have the Canik Piranha, and that is actually a better shot than CZ SP01 with hard chrome barrel and cleaner machining.

DSA made a Colt 1911 replica once, shot that during a visit to their factory in Peshawar. Machining and bluing on that one was lovely (& glasslike) but they were not selling any. It was the only made then so not sure if they made more. I would want that just for how well it was machined and blued :)

Plinking plates at 25m with 30bore Chinese Tok is fun and frustrating at times .. ! This one is owned just for the history ... but I really wanted Zastava M57 but only replicas around then. All this reminded me, I need to get my copy punjab licenses converted to cards when I get back.

In a video posted somewhere on the forum, there was a presentation of all weapons made by POF, there was no mention of range master in that presentation.

Every soldier on that stall confirmed it. That this Rifle used to be imported from UK but now being produced in Pakistan

POF doesn't always show their entire products. Pretty much every soldier on that booth and I didn't asked them when they were standing together. I kept roaming around and asked a new soldier every time and answer was same every time.

You are basing your opinion on what soldiers said? What was the soldiers speciality? What would they know where they were made? did they even know what the name of the rifle was besides knowing that it was a sniper rifle?

This guy is from POF and he pretty much covered every product made by POF. This was an exhibition, why would they hide one product?

Soldier know each and everything. They are not just given a weapon without telling the detail of it. When they are given a Gun or any weapons they are told about its originals when it was first made How many produced and almost each and every detail is given. They learn about weapons like we learn different chapters in a book.

Only about the weapon issued to them which in case might be G3. I don't think the soldiers you met were actual snipers.
