Is this guy like the "Lasantha Wickrematunga" of Sri Lanka? I've heard his name pop up here and there and am interested to know.

Does he:

- Use his position/newspaper to go on witch hunts against individuals, publishing succurilous articles and turning the newspaper into a broadsheet against individuals he does not like?
- Claims to be unbiased but actually supports a particular political party?
- Continuously attacks the religious majority both overtly and covertly through editorials, articles/letters to the editor?
- Hides or does not publish articles critical of any other groups in the country?
- When criticized plays the victim card, claiming to be innocent and under attack by majoritarian extremists?
- Tries to paint enemies of the country in rosy colours, and instead turns the blame to the majority?

If so, Rajdeep Sardesai is the Lasantha Wickrematunga of Sri Lanka.

Lasantha Wickrematunga ended up getting killed in Sri Lanka, and his supporters (and international read western organisations) still try to lionise him even though he engaged in the worst type of yellow journalism (not that I am trying to justify his murder - better to expose them for who they are).

Besides the stray dog and filthy pig bit..... he does sound a lot like Sri Lanka's Lasantha Wickrematunga.... the kind that always paints the country in a bad light, and who seems to detest anything native.

I have another question... is there a Christian connection?

I've always wondered whether these sorts of characters have some sort of foreign funding. Because they are so deeply unpopular in their countries amongst the majority and always seem to be championed by a small coterie of westernised (often Christian) elites. Where do they get their inordinate amount of influence from?

Side note: Whilst reading the articles AugenBlick linked to it occured to me (I've thought about it before) how followers belonging to the Dharmic religions (Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism/Sihkhism) really do not have a world media organisation that can get their viewpoints across. The west has CNN/BBC/Yahoo and a whole lot of tools at its disposal, and this is what inspired the creation of Al Jazeera so to get the Muslim world's opinions across to a global audience. I wonder whether the Dharmic peeps can get a world media organisation like that? Would be cool IMO.

Yes ... but it is a little complicated to explain ...... So follow the argument closely
1) Non gandhi govt was until recently an aberration for India. so the gandhis had 36 years of direct + 10 yr by proxy (MMS) rule over India.

2) There is a muslim/Christian connection in that family as they were denied entry to Pashupati temple (Sonia & Rajiv) , nepals holiest and only for hindus.

3) During their reign , missionaries had a free run in India , to the point that India was about to sign a treaty with vatican to give public funding to the church/priests in india to stop "human trafficking "

4) Rajdeep covered up the "cash 4 votes" scam that entailed the congis paying MP's to survive a Confidence vote and save their govt.

5)Rajdeep was awarded the Padmashree soon there after.

6) He rants non stop against Hindus ... e.g. If a hindu girl gets raped and forcibly is converted to islam he will question it as right wing controversy . Other cases he will not say a thing.
