In my recent conscious/unconcious history, Musharraf was the only Army ruler I witnessed(rest all were before my birth). I have seen massive flood of progress of Karachi in that tenure, and note that not just mqm of mustafa Kamal but jamat e Islami performed well, exceeding expectations.

A major loss was when corrupt ppp and pmln hijacked and now holding the country hostage using a darkest amendment known as 18th amendment.

PPP will never let anyone in Sindh develop, all they care is to make money while in power before they are ousted(even that is a distant dream now due to 18th amendment).

But I partially blame establishment for not playing a secret but firm role to get rid of loopholes in such amendments.

Define flood control measures ?

Bhai, no measures needed if we had proper sewerage and drainage system in the city. Islamabad receives more rainfall than Karachi throughout the year but you don't get to see such pictures.

Recently we had 2 tropical hurricane storms here in US east coast. There is no water standing during or after the heavy rainfall. Reason - they have proper drainage system, every 8 ft on both sides of the streets/roads, you have a proper covered drain hole.

There was a time when Karachi used to be first destination of every tourist in Pakistan but now they dont even pick it for the last place to visit. These PPP and PMLN motherfucckers destroyed my beautiful country especially Karachi. I just hope better sense prevails and Karachi is handed over to federation so that all the tax money can be spent properly. I was shocked to read that Karachi last year only got 4 billion Rs from Sindh govt as development funding. I mean Billy Bhutto might as well get his arse uplifted via surgery with that money why even bother giving peanuts like Rs 4 billion to one of the most populated cities.

NRO was a mistake committed by Kiyani as he was the architect behind that, he was later gifted with extention after zardari came to power.

Compare musharraf era with any recent era plus countries like India, Bangladesh etc. You will see how massive growth was. Also it wouldn't be wrong to say that actually musharraf was the vision behind CPEC. He also wanted to eliminate dependence on just one port city and develop Southern Balochistan and involve China more into Pakistan, three visions with one strategy.

He may not be the perfect one, but things were way better. Karachi was doing great during that time.
