The Britishers were good, at least they made something in railways which is still lasting till now and being used even though obsolete.

What did Pakistani governments in general do to facilitate the up bringing of the railways to regional standards let alone world standards.

British were better, Pakistan Railway route length shrunk by 35% in last 65 years.

If the carriage of goods can be incentivised to move shipment owners from road transport to train will be the first step. This way atleast people will start transport of raw materials. This will require creation of freight corridors. At each end of the corridor, get warehousing facilities in place for further movement of goods. Then slowly improve the branching off as per national priorities. But, this will require priority investment and policy priority. Also, means taking on the existing trucking monopolies who will definitely oppose this. Lower income passenger travel can in the future be subsidized by higher class bogies and freight rates. Improving the rails will also lower cost of transport, thereby lower cost of production.

Why are Indians always interested in Pakistan's negative developments? These people come here in masses as if they know they know or have experienced things from us...
Its our country and we will have to make changes from our own pockets...
