Rail Battle Between China and Japan Rushes At High Speed

You think China's economy depends on India? o_O If you are serious about the hurting part i suggest you do more research. China has great relations with many countries on a global scale, we have many projects going on. To think China can't do without India is totally nonsense. I for one am happy to see Japan will be building the HSR network for India so the Japanese can squeeze all the milk from the poor cow.
you think too much...where did I say that it will hurt China economy.
I am trying to say that India's infrastructure demand is growing vertically....better relationship will be more beneficial to China...

The best QC, not even close huh? Can you be specific? Enlighten us a few.

You didn't deny China any revenue at all. You just gave a big chunk money to Japan. LOL, don't you get it? It was going to be a cut throat competition. Had race taken place the winner would've been lucky to break even. Nonetheless your short sighted politicians let their prejudice to get the best of them. You guys didn't even let the two bidders go at it a little bit, WTH???
Do you even know what "Kaizen" means....Its a Japanese term...Read up on it and then comment!...Much of the world uses it and you are no exception.

R u dumb or something? Is Chinese railway built by foreigners?
you said this: " Japanese HSR in Taiwan is a total disaster, who wants a second failure except for the dumb? I can foreseen another disaster is in the coming in India, technologically and financially."
that means in short japanese trains are no good and are expensive. are you forgetting japan invented the high speed train?
sure they will be expensive but competitave against siemens, alstom and bombardier who are the other major hsr manufacturers.
the point i was making that japanese high speed trains are in china.

below is a crh2 which is basically a hitachi E2-1000

Taiwan HSR project is a disaster, which is a commonly accepted fact in Taiwan.
And this has nothing to do with Chinese upgrading the original Japanese version to 350km/h.
Japanese built the railway, and sold trains to Taiwan. Mainland China is totally not the case. Japanese collected all the tech from europeans countries and made their shikensan, which is great. But the performances of a train will not change the fact that, Taiwan HSR project is a technological and financial disaster.

We have all kinds of trains, and we improve the original versions to a better one, including Siemens, Kawasaki, Alstom and Bombardier. But we are not importing a whole system dominated by one country. And you should distinguish a railway project and the trains.

The project turned out to be a disaster beccuz of the high interest financing, not becuz of tech

Ask locals how often the railway is slowed down and stopped for maintenance in the middle of a day.
Because they don't own tech, so they have to rely on Japan forever. I am not saying the tech itself is not good, but who owns the tech is the problem. Such expertise can not be learnt just by they telling you blah blah blah.

Absoutely correct. Taiwan HSR maintenance and important component still need the Japanese supplier support while Chinese HSR is 100% self reliant. It will be same as India case as her industries bases is weak and still need to rely on import of expensive Japanese components to continue maintenance.

China HSR tunnelling and track laying comes with innovative method that drive down the cost which makes China HSR project much cheaper than other countries offer.

This monster is invented by Chinese for efficient track laying. No other countries has it. This monster is one of the reason for low cost and high efficient of China HSR track construction.

China tunnel boring.jpg

China build our own tunnel boring machine so that we do not rent expensive European or Japanese tunnel boring machine to construct our own HSR tunnel. Something India not able to do it. China using its own tunnel boring machine improve efficiency and significant bring down construction cost.

I personally feel sorry if they replicate a second taiwan HSR project in India, but it's not our loss, why should I?

Don't forget that, our expertise of railway construction comes from decades of experiences, not just from a couple of years. People just see the glorious achievements for the moment but they do not see engineers and workers' endeavour of decades.

China as the country who boasts one third of world's total foreign reserves is very meticulous when spending them. That's why it took years to ink the Russian Su-35 deal cause China doesn't want to buy many, in the end Russia gave in and accepted selling only 24 jets. India with the foreign reserve only a tiny fraction of China's spends them like crazy, feel sorry for India's tax payers.

They could have upgraded their deadly railways years ago, at least to 200km/h. With experiences from such projects, they could just ignore all other foreigner companies and build their own high-speed railways. The problem is, they don't even know how to build a proper high-speed railway. India is not some small country where railway industry is impossible to survive. They have missed the best chance, and now they have to reply on the others to build some simple high-speed rails.( that is not as difficult as building a high-speed railway on Tibetan Plateau or on the most geologically complicated Karst landform). Being later at some moment, will be forever late.

Like I have Asked before 'do you have a link for that?'

Then why did you import Japanese HSR trainsets in the 1st place & upgrading the rail to 200km/h was never a technological problem but rather a political problem & lack of funds

Link for what? Taiwan is not an English society, u won't hear English news like"台湾高铁延误三小时". U don't need some English articles to know a system totally relying on one consortium, how serious are the consequences.

You do not have fund, nor tech, that's the fact.
And we have 250km/h old lines way before the first real high-speed railway was used.
We had locos which can reach 200km/h in operation and 250km/h in test in 1990s.

This seems to be a Chinese circle jerk thread where they all say "Japanese tech sucks" and/or "Good for China that India choose Japan"

Good for everyone here. India is happy, Japan is happy...and if the Chinese are also happy then why are the Chinese members jumping up and down.

. .
I propose price fixing and hidden backroom deals between both countries so that both sellers wont 'race to the bottom' in terms of price and technoloyy transfer.

That way both are winners with plenty of rice to eat!

Indeed. An oligopoly from Japan and China would be profitable. $$$$$$$$$$
