Rafale: towards standard F4

Dear @Taygibay @Vergennes @Louiq XIV What new capabilities can we expect in the next-gen F4?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good news Zarvan.
I'm sure that the M88 core has now achieved full potential.
Are you saying, that there won't be any M88 variants, with higher thrust?

Dear @Taygibay @Vergennes @Louiq XIV What new capabilities can we expect in the next-gen F4?

The engine core was a major one with added SC and fuel capacity. Spectra was seeing some new changes. There was a new HMD Which Rafale lacked to some extent was also under Dev.

We can safely assume and say that a Rafale Growler is being formed.

However Taygiboy can beg to differ.

No. they had one eco version of it with added thrust and SC. Above was what I wears saying.
I'm mobile now so can't access my BM I will post some when I can.

Rafay Growler - Is already flying.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sir, @Khafee was looking at a little more detailed stuff. We all know that F3-4 standard was coming as MLU to Indian Navy given that the timeline was a bit stretched.

A bit more light on the matter will do.

It is. The interesting fact is that they wanted a passive Growler. I and Sancho have spoken about in this very forum in some 2012 .

French MI wanted a passive and not an active Growler. Or something to that effect.

I'll have to differ my poor mate because we don't know yet!

The new elements in the M-88 will be mostly materials used
but running higher temperatures as it will doesn't tell us what
gains will be chosen. More power can be used to lift more, to
maintain a slightly higher transit speed or use less fuel at ISO
speed or last longer, etc. Safran will do what it's asked.

We should not presume anything beyond more electrical power,
as there might be enough to both annul weight gain and provide
better longevity. Maybe the dream is to have an engine last the
life of the cell? We're getting closer to that one!

Then on the Growler thing, no, there is no such thing and that is
also how we can understand DasH's convo from elsewhere :

The US tactical concept has a plane dedicated to handling the
EW for the normal ones. The French tactics have the plane not
fighting but evading the EW and doing so as a single entity * .

Hence the passive EW tactic requires / means no Growler.

Hence too, more Spectra likely means individual defense except for
the intra-patrol link that will make the Raffys more network-centric
and allow for better awareness and more precision in localization
of threats.

Essentially, the F4 is a way to merge all the PEAs running since the
F3R definition. It could be the last standard before the MLU/Rafale II.

Good day all, Tay.

I agree. Just let me drive back home
:)
I would have some @Taygibay
Sir long time

By all means but do so gently. :)

The M88 core was supposed to go through improvements and the French navy guys predicted the date for it and that now coincides.

And regarding Spectra, I am sure it was designed to be an equivalent to be of DasH.

I'm sure it is in the offing. And about burning on higher aspect ratio there was a low flight low corridor on higher weapon load like the f 18 on assymetric warefare.

I would love to see some change on the contrary.

To French members here...has the work on Indian rafale order started??
