However Taygiboy can beg to differ.
I'll have to differ my poor mate because we don't know yet!
The new elements in the M-88 will be mostly materials used
but running higher temperatures as it will doesn't tell us what
gains will be chosen. More power can be used to lift more, to
maintain a slightly higher transit speed or use less fuel at ISO
speed or last longer, etc. Safran will do what it's asked.
We should not presume anything beyond more electrical power,
as there might be enough to both annul weight gain and provide
better longevity. Maybe the dream is to have an engine last the
life of the cell? We're getting closer to that one!
Then on the Growler thing, no, there is no such thing and that is
also how we can understand DasH's convo from elsewhere :
The US tactical concept has a plane dedicated to handling the
EW for the normal ones. The French tactics have the plane not
fighting but evading the EW and doing so as a single entity
* .
Hence the passive EW tactic requires / means no Growler.
Hence too, more Spectra likely means individual defense except for
the intra-patrol link that will make the Raffys more network-centric
and allow for better awareness and more precision in localization
of threats.
Essentially, the F4 is a way to merge all the PEAs running since the
F3R definition. It could be the last standard before the MLU/Rafale II.
Good day all, Tay.
* I.E. By itself, each tasked with its own survival.
