Is it possible to fly an aircraft without being specifically trained for that type?

I doubt that the IAF chief had control over the aircraft during critical parts like take off and landings. He was likely handed over the controls when they were in the air.

this is it ..
this bird will be in indian skies...
action speaks louder .. so IAF chief did it in style..
both parties interested and desparate...

I pray that the next time we will have Rafales landing on Indian soil, they will better be painted in IAF colours :cheers::cheers:

Hehe, interested and desperate yes, but these 2 parties are not the deciding once. Also such flights had been done before and Rafale still wasn't procured:

Rafael is a good aircraft..

Few years of development, and Rafael might just catch upto JF-17 block I.
