I guess the 'Israel Hijack...' topic still have its relevancy but the world is already looking ahead at the fate of the Rachel Corrie ship which was left behind as the last ship of the historic Freedom Flotilla.
So what is going to happen? Will there be a Turkish escort? Will the ship agree to go to Ashdod, as one Haaretz article says today, or will there be even an Irish escort? Already Malaysia and Ireland have asked to let the Rachel Corrie ship continue to Gaza without harm.

To get us started discussing this, here is what the current Google search brings up:

If those Aid agencies are serious about delivering Goods/products to gaza they could go to Ashtod Port in Israel and deliver the Aid and from there it could be sent by road.

Those Aid Agencies and their sponsors have a ulterior political motive behind all this drama.

@Dr. Evil,
No, Ashdod is not a good option because not only Israel delays the shipment but also Israel has a rather large list of items it won't allow to enter Gaza including, sometimes, even Chocolate. Cement is banned as well.
I'd say all aid to Gaza can be checkout for weapons by neutral or a multinational team at, say, a Cyprus port and then allowed to proceed.
But...Israel's goals are, to quote one of its criminal politcians, 'to not starve Gaza but put them on a diet'. And hence currently, according to the UN and Red Cross sources only about a 1/4th of the needed supplies reach Gaza.

PS. Indian trolls. Keep doing it. You will only hurt India's standing in the world. There is a disproportionate number of Indians on this Forum who are supporting Israel even after the Flotilla fiasco.

Of course there is a political motive behind all of this aid ships. We need to show the world Israel cruelty and brutality. If no one tries to do something if no one raise a hand on this situation then we aren't any different from them.

Why is that you consider any one not agreeing to your point of view is a TROLL.

India's standing in the world & specially the middle east will depend on the actions take by Govt. of India not by making mere statements.

India has had positive influence on palestine and has been a huge supporter of an independent palestine.

If you see the contributions made by India till date to palestenian organisations it overshadows the contributions made by pakistan.

There is no need for name calling and calling others as trolls.

Sorry, 'troll' may be too strong in your case but I maintain that Indians are standing out in blogspace for their support of Israel. There is no question about it now and it is for the world to see.

Yes, Indian govt. USED TO be quite pro-Palestinians. It was before 1991; after that, it is just lip-service. And I can understand that why the change of stance: You decided to cozy up to America via the Israeli lobby after the Fall of the Soviets.

Let's stick with the topic, shall we?
