I think case is different. The bay of Bengal is now the center of power play of new cold war. So Qaud needs Bangladesh in order to encircle China, so that a naval blockade on Malacca strait can bring China down on it's knees .

However that's the reason China has Myanmar in order to get direct access in to the bay of Bengal.

But in order to create the area hassle free and also in order to wring India's chicken neck China must need Bangladesh.

As if China wring the Chicken neck ( Siliguri corridor) , Quad will use Bangladeshi land to move army to aid seven sisters !
