Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that India should play a positive role in defusing the current situation in Afghanistan.



Appearing in Samaa TV’s morning show Naya Din, Qureshi said that New Delhi should visibly act in a responsible manner.

He went on to say that Narendra Modi-led country should not play the role of a spoiler while the world unites for peace in Afghanistan.

Foreign minister, speaking about his meeting with Taliban officials, said the two parties will discuss approaches for bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He will share his point of view with the delegation and their suggestions will be taken into account.

The minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has called an urgent meeting of the National Security Council on the emerging situation in Afghanistan, said that officials will discuss the situation before presenting their position.

I really hope Pakistan has learnt a lesson that terrorism of all kinds (good and bad) is not good. If you are not careful this time, be ready for losing another hundreds of thousands of innocent lives (purely saying it based on past events).

No harm in keeping back channel communication with Taliban. If they behave responsibly and do not threaten Indian interests as they are promising, we might also have limited diplomatic presence in future. It can be similar to how we have limited presence in North Korea.

My only concern is terrorism. If they behave as they seem to promise, believe in freedom for all groups (women, minority and everyone) then sure. But they need to prove themselves first.

The Taliban will remember India donated weapon to Afghanistan government trying to kill more Taliban. They will confiscate all India property in Afghanistan and make sure Indian eat dirt.

why do you guys always insist on showing your inherent bias against Pakistan which adds to your inherent stupidity and wishful thinking. You are imagining that the Taliban will take over Pakistan. Pakistan gave Taliban the opportunity to hand over OBL and avoid war and they opted not to.
