Featured Quetta: The death toll in the attack on FC post has risen to ten

The use of Drones is happening and slowly increasing. The issue is we are not facing a very small group. That would be finished with one or two drone strikes. It's a slightly long battle. What we really need is to hit their main bases in Afghanistan and Iran and their ABBA India.

There is no proof that drones are being used. Even in this attack there was no air cover even though attack continued for 3 to 4 hours

If a base comes under attack, at least a jet with a targeting pod should be scrambled ASAP to provide observational over watch and hopeful scare off the attackers, or drive them away to be taken out away from the base.

Even an older F-7PG or Mirage could be spared at each air base for these kind of operations. On 24 hour alert at air bases across Baluchistan with a targeting pod. That’s maybe 6 planes across the province at any given time (18 in total), with a targeting pod and maybe a few laser guided rockets. Give each FC base a laser designator to call in air strikes.

then a dedicated QRF air support can come in within 30 minutes (while trurboprop aircraft transit to the location) to provide continuous overwatch and knock out enemy assets until the job is done; manned Hurkus or unmanned UAVs.
F7PG dont have targetting pods. And you dont use jets with targetting pods in such a small area due to risk of collateral damage. In such cases you dust off your never used drones or call the aviation from their sleeping beds.

Fair point, Then use the drones and station then closer to bases so they can get there ASAP.

The FC need their own air assets, whether it be drones or manned platforms, but they need their own air protection, on 24 hour alert. The thread showing the series of events is devastatingly Damning on those in command, and their failure to TRY to provide support. An Inquiry is needed, because if lessons aren’t learned the brave men will have become shaheed in vain.
Came back on this thread to make similar suggestion.
Some of the decommissioned aircrafts, that are still good to be operated, should be handed over to FC and Rangers with their own pilots flying them. This will require their integration into training courses at Army Aviation School and PAF Academy Asghar Khan.

In a similar doctrine to the US marines, all assets tailored to support the man on the ground, where the fight is. For long term sustainable AirPower, something like the Turkish Hurkus and dedicated drone fleet should be built up. In the interim, some older planes can be given to them, to allow forward air controllers with the FC to call in air strikes, with modestly priced small LGB; 100 kg and 250 kg; for the danger close air strikes (within 600 meters).

Hurkus and Super Tucano have a lot of resemblance.
And I think FC and Rangers could use the airbases of both army and airforce alongwith their maintenance crew.

Is this video from same attack and please tell me all these scumbags were later chased and killed.

@PanzerKiel @Foxtrot Alpha @Maarkhoor @Horus @Arsalan

The army aviation Mushaq crash number is greater than PAF. You think FC and Ranger can keep good maintenance of the oldies?
The drones are far better alternative in this regard.

Brother what later! The response didn't come in 2-3 hours, now those preparators are long gone. How can we chase them now, when we don't know who adn where are they?
Even if maarkhor eats them, it will eliminate the threat but will it quench the sense of deprivation/helplessness which FC and nation faced on that day?

Sir I have mentioned the maintenance in my second comment

Making separate airbases and getting the required infrastructure in place with the manpower is just too costly and time consuming. Therefore, better alternative would be to share pre-existing facilities with army and PAF.

No man. It was about the quality and training. Listen to Sir Qaiser Tuafil interview that why PN doesn't have an air wing. The air base and maintenance issues aside, who will train the pilot? PAF. Regular exercise, mission, sorties, etc all by PAF.

So that is why FC/Rangers cannot operate aircrafts as the required training is equivalent to a fighter pilot. Plus maintenance team training (time+money) must be at par with PAF airmen.

Heli borne QRF squeezed from wheeled QRF protecting red tapers and cantt areas.

FC operated Hueys but were sent back to USA. If interior ministry asks Corps HQ, then LCB can be sent in helis to rescue FC.

What's a red taper?
