What's new

Question for indians; Do you remember this video

Never knew Mahabharat and Ramayan were so popular even in Pakistan.

Not so popular by any standards lol , yes some of us as children used to watch this type of serials in border areas where doordarshan signals were strong enough because such serials used to have those magical scenes which I believe attract every child's attention like cartoons etc.

. .
Wow that's pretty close especially from Sialkot.

Yes one can even feel the influence of dogri language of jammu on some north eastern rural parts of Sialkot district near the border.

.
We used to get strong doordarshan TV signals in my city due to strong boosters in Jammu area, We used to watch indian movies on doordarshan in 80s and 90s. I even watched many episodes of Ramayan that was telecast in late 80s :D. I just recently came across this video on youtube and it reminded me that they used to play it a lot on doordarshan TV in late 80s and early 90s, it was an unexpected find because I think this was a good video as it used to show many actors and ordinary people singing in many different languages.

DD days :D

What was the name of that show which was all about filmi songs..

They still play this video but only sometimes during 26 jan or 15 aug
Things were different in some border cities in Punjab(India) in mid 90s as Doordarshan signals were weak than PTV in our areas . I remember I used to saw some of my favourite cartoons on PTV in morning before going to school.Pakistani dramas were quite popular in people because Doordarshan was very boring at that time. They used to telecast their quality serials only on DD metro which was available only in metro cities & was out of reach from people of remote areas.

Do any of you guys(Indian and Pakistani) remember this serial, 'Johnny Sokko And His Flying Robot'.........I never missed an episode......it was so cool with a big and a small robot.....

.
When I see that video its remind me my childhood with saturday night of Jai Hanuman and sunday night with Om Namasivaya. In day times Shakti mann serials
Back then there is only one channel and that was DD .truly nostalgic.

LOL! That was pretty stereotypical. They used to do it a lot in the 90's.

Our family bought TV(Televista) in68-69 and the only thing they could watch was rainy pictures from Lahore and the antenna was mounted on a 60ft pole. The TV worked fine until I dropped water on it's circuit board in 2006.

Going by your posts, I knew you were abused during your childhood days.

 yeh watching bharoti soaps are no less than abuse

No wonder! That may be the reason for your dubious distinction of getting 42 negative ratings already!!! :omghaha:

nah je got those precious 42 negative ratings for his great language skills and services Against bharatis :P
