What's new

Question for expats.

I was brought to the West as a kid so I didn’t have a choice.

Overtime you realize it’s not your country no matter how hard you try to fit in.
Did you feel happier when you went there?

Bhai jaan maghrib mein ap ki jaib khush haal hai lekin log deep down khush nai hain.

Jaib abad hai lekin logon ki rooh aur dil weeran hain.

Your wallet is alive but your heart and soul feel dead.

I don't feel I will ever really be expected as a muslim and a Pakistani in America. Unless I start partying and eating pork like them. Those kinds of Pakistanis are immediately accepted and recognised. Also because US is probably the most racist country out of all the rich white nations. Followed by France, Germany and Britain for being racist(my opinion based on anecdotal conversations with relatives and online convos)
I’ve tried hard to fit in, in the end it’s futile.

The whites will never accept you.
İ feel same bro. İ fear even worst for my future children's psychological confusion and well being.

It’s a great experience to come as adult immigrant, but growing up in the US as Asian creates identity crisis.

It’s important for children to have an identity and be proud of it early on.
