Querry regarding TuAF

Yeah man u see that was same situation with USA when I got here. These people had a filter where they couldnt carry out their hate in public. But they got an excuse, someone to sencourage them to remove all filter i.e señor Donald Trump.

What if AKP goes and a part with opposite beliefs comes to power??

I dont want to find myself in the same circumstances if I move to Istanbul.

Gulf states?

I think with US citizenship you are King.

. .
Hahaha yeah a girl once told a story to similar effect. It was truly funny. Them tow faced gulf arabs hehehe

Yeah man. But u dont know that the muslim communities here right now have become scared/paranoid to some extent. As to what the future might hold. You dont know what that feels like.
I think you are a very insecure person, you worry to much, first work on that then decide what to do.

. .
Recently heard rumors that TuAF is starting a program like USAF Reserves/National guard where a pilot in commercial airlines can also be a weekend combat pilot. Is there any truth to these rumors??

Also what would be the requirements for this program? Salary?? Do I have to give up US citizenship??

Also looking into Turk Hava Yollari.

Really want to escape anti muslim hatred in America. So if I am a Pakistani immigrant in Turkey who is very religious. And if my wife wears hijab/niqab/burqa. How will we be treated? Will we be mocked?? What should I expect from a life in Turkey?? Do Turks dislike outsiders or look down upon them?? What is a good salary to have a decent life??

Both Turk and non turk advice is welcome.

Turks usually have a positive view towards Pakistanis because of the past. That being said your wife wearing hijab shouldn't be any problem since Turkey is a country with Muslim heritage so it's more than common to see women with a headscarf. Burqas and Niqabs are pretty rare nowadays especially in the Western part of the country so even if you see a woman with a Burqa the face will still be visible unlike in other Muslim states where everything is covered.

When it comes to the beard that's a different story. Unless you're actively involved in an operation in which there may be no time to shave it's not a big issue. But the Turkish army is pretty strict on other occasions and doesn't allow beards at all. It's actually part of the discipline code, you can't have long hair or any beard & mustache at all. They allow such stuff in the States to some extent but here it's not tolerated.

But as a foreigner, it's near impossible to join Turkish army let alone become a pilot. You can, however, work in THY without any problems if you have past experiences in the field. Turkish airlines have lots of foreigners in their fleet.

.
So u saying Pakistani identity is a plus point??

What if my beard is not too long??

I am religious in that I pray 5 times on and off, love the quran. But I am not too religious if you know what I mean.

The thing that I am tired of at this point is WASP/white mentality Americans constantly blocking me in my career. Trying to put me down if I do a better job, preferring same people as me but only white in color and in general behaving like total shayateen.

And this phenomenon is getting worse day by day.

Also will I be able to make some friends because in America I felt shunned by the local people mostly.

I tell you the truth.. if you have a long beard you face what I faced.. even children (without respect) will say you should "clean it" "cut it" and this is in not so populated areas in center of turkey.. in istanbul no one cared because there are places where you will find same ppl , but if you are from america then you should have no problems because its mostly like america dont think you are in rural areas of pakistan you will see a modern and modern minded city

some ppl even asked me in my hometown if I am from syria.. because of my beard style.. and I do not know how you have to be dressed as a pilot.. ? there could be rules for all kind of hairs (not against beard but a general outfit but I do not know)

but lets state this out in our place int urkey its some kind of insult to the elders if you have a beard (culture) its like no respect for your father and others.. its a cultural thing

I guess one thing that we dont know is whether THY is allowing the pilots to have a beard or a long beard?

Never seen one to be honest, I only ever saw a short trimmed beard but otherwise clean shaven.
But that being said Turkish Airlines is recruiting foreign pilots and has many from Greece for example, so instead of waiting just apply for an open position.

I usually keep a short stubble nothing more really. But was asking in case I want to start keeping one.

Why dont u surrender ur US passport? I have seen quite a few people like you, accuse the land where one live like anything, but wont quit nor surrender the passport. Cos you know how one's life can be difficult without US passport.

Surrendering is not an option. You must face the “problems”.

I don’t know if you are Indian or not, but you or your parents left your origin country for a better life.

You have misunderstood me. I am asking him to do it. I cannot stand people who have left their home country and living in another and complaining, whining about its culture instead of trying to integrate, mingle and stand their ground.
Did you see his whining? If he felt US is so miserable why dont he surrender his citizenship or passport. He wont. Cos that citizenship will protect him in various ways his unfortunate origin country citizens have. And no my parents didnt migrate. I migrated and I wouldnt whine about the country I live. This country gives me a better life and I will take the challenges of living in it in my stride.

No, I understand you very well. What you mean is, every migrant has no right to complaining or criticize/whining the situation in his/her homeland. I say, this is not correct. Integration is not an one way street.
