Anyway, I've enough of these debates with people like you but the point is; whatever has happened in the past is a past; it's time to look forward to the future... my identity is Pakistan and I'm very proud of it; if you're so concerned about your identity of Pakhtunwali which is Afghanistan; gave up your CNIC and move to Afghanistan and live among your ethnic people.

I don't think this is the past and it is a mistake if we accept Luffy's reality to be OUR reality. Also Luffy... i need a source for your figures. The figures on votes for Pakistan Muslim League in Pakhtunkhwa as stated in Jaswant Singhs book are far different from your statistics though i believe you are not talking about the election. I will try to post them here sometime but can’t get access to the book (remember rough figures from before)... it showed a substantial Muslim League victory in elections.
The thing is this is the past Luffy wants us to see... and I personally believe
it is a one-sided past covering a part of history and in a way even a rape of history. For example look at the MQM.

Similarly there was a quashing of the Khudai Khidmatgars (by a Pashtun himself!) by Abdul Qayyum Khan soon after partition and it was used to claim that a genocide or suppression of Pashtuns had taken place "by Pakistan," by modern day separatists or Afghans (Nation). Also if you look at history it is entirely true that the Pashtun nation (Old-day Afghanistan) and Mughals were at war almost constantly but this has developed very deep ethnic overtones due to our “loving neighbours” and a number of things are grossly ignored for various reasons... particularly to draw parallels between Afghanistan and Pakistan today and put them at loggerheads when they could be friends (can’t today because of the attitude of Afghanistan-but was possible-a union was suggested by both alama iqbal and Chaudhry rehmat ali of now or never but our neighbors too headstrong)
Have you heard of Rehman Baba, the poet? He lived his life in Peshawar as a very loyal subject of Mughals. Have you heard of Yousuf Khan and Sherbano? The legend takes place in Mughal territory and Yousuf Khan becomes a general in the Mughal army which consisted of 80% Pashtuns. That my friend is ALSO a part of PASHTUN culture not just war, war, war with Mughals. Muhabbat Khan, Salim Khan, Arbaz Khan all were Mughal generals leading their armies and were Pashtuns. They are also our history, PASHTUN history... not just the prowess of the Afghan nation.
I am not saying do not be proud of Khushal Khan Khattak or Ghaznavi or Mirwais Hotak... they are Pashtuns (and Pakistani Pashtuns making 70-80% of all Pashtuns have a larger share of that history than anyone from Afghanistan) but how is this being used by people like Luffy? For example it was said by Afghan (country) monkeys no Pashtun can be Pakistani as all are Afghans... meaning total hypocrisy... accepting Afghanistan in its national sense and ethnic sense to blackmail Pashtuns-very often used to insult Pakistan but since Afghan supposed=Pashtuns. So its used to widen a divide, create a chasm... to invoke altered or incomplete history to cause a war of ethnicity in Pakistan? Why? After all Afghanistan has Hazaras Tajiks and Uzbeks. They accept them as Afghans but try to divide Pakistani Pashtuns from Pakistan?

those who don’t know Pashtun and Afghan historically are supposed to mean exactly the same thinghence a very useful tool for Afghans to invoke.)
So basically to give the Afghanistan vs Mughal narrative more meaning and in turn using it today (this is being done) to direct the Pashtuns vs Pakistan narrative. According to them Afghanistan is a Pashtun superstate-even though we in Pakistan have twice as many Pashtuns as them 30 million < in Pak>-14 million <in Afg> and almost all Pashtun heroes were born on our lar side of durand line! Also not counting that Tajiks Uzbeks and Hazaras make a larger proportion of the Afghan army than Pashtuns themselves, infact they are being kicked out-to stop green on blue attacks many have been laid off and figures say 80-90% were Pashtuns!!!
Also Amir Abdur Rehman Khan, “the iron amir” basically sat with the British and partitioned the land on a whim. He threw away the south just to save Kabul from being captured by Britain? Do they really give a damn about the south? Luffy will be very sad when the Afghans tell him to go back and get lost from Afghanistan as he is a traitor as if 1893 agreement was his fault (this has happened to people-Pashtuns I know when they went to the British for help against British Empire before 1947)... he is by all means a stateless person who refused to become Pakistani but will never be accepted as "Afghan" both in the ethnic and national sense. One can only feel pity for him and ALSO BLAME OURSELVES for failing to ensure he integrated.
Za Pakistani yam. Za Pashtun yam (and I have every right to call myself that having done everything to learn the culture and language-not just that promote it!) and zama watan Pakistan da aw lh hagha srah meena laram!!!... Also do note that this knowledge about Pashtuns about 90% Pashtuns (mostly from Pakistan) don’t even possess which makes us very culpable of falling victim to rubbish from not just from Luffy but people who are much more openly hateful to Pakistan than him. Those who possess it are usually Afghan (Nation) ***-kissers and a number of others I met on the forum. This gives them a natural advantage upon 99% patriotic Pakistani Pashtuns who lack that knowledge and as a result it can lead to being influenced ... I have seen it... my parents don’t know much about Pakistan on account of living outside. Their knowledge comes mainly from relatives in Pakistan and when they see them voting on ethnic basis and talking about other ethnic groups invading Karachi they obviously adopt the same rubbish.
I am an exception and I challenge the norms, the culture of ethno-fascism and for that I am learning a number of languages spoken in Pakistan even though I am extremely sick though Pashto was on account of my weak and debated Pashtun background, my love for Pashtuns as a people who have done much for this country and
to make a statement of ETHNIC UNITY because for some reason my fellow muhajirs hate them. Each race has done much for this country, we cannot obfuscate that with pride for the races we are born in.
The idea of Pakistan is not to create a supra-urdu speaking culture (something MQM supporting Muhajirs will never accept) but
it is to make a country that gels and is united. A
ll our cultures, all our histories are Pakistani history and cultures. This makes our country so culturally and historically rich much more so than the people of Afghanistan will ever be.
The thing is history is basically told (with very natural bias) by the one who knows it and has the ability to make judgement on the past. A lot of us don't know history... as a result we are forced to listen to history as the BNP, ANP or MQM would tell us... those who study on their own and make their minds for themselves can be challengers. Luffy idolizes the ANP and is sympathetic to seperatism and Pashtunistan though he has said he does not directly support it. The only way to beat these guys is beat them at history... but i fear luffy does know more than most Pashtuns here, thus Astanosh he may concoct whatever history he wishes (because as I said he may not even count people like Abdur Rab Nishtar who he sees as traitors or be too pleased with Sher Khan or Lalak Jan's sacrifice for Pakistan)
Luffy you said we lack culture (on the other forum). That sort of stuff does not escape your mouth here. Pakistan’s culture is the culture of all its people including Pashtuns.
Its not ONE culture. It is a thousand cultures which make the Pakistani identity and a bigot can never understand how beautiful this makes our nation.
Pashto is the language of poets and a culture of tolerance (Pir Roshan was secular!!!)
It deserves to be promoted as the averoes of Pakistan but the thing is each race cares only about their history.[/U] I have stood for this through thick and thin. Ask me anything about Pashtuns and while Luffy is galloping away like a horse or furiously abusing other races I will answer. I would advise Pakistani Pashtuns to safeguard Pashto language and teach it to their kids. Its currently being replaced by Urdu which was not the purpose of Urdu as official language which was again to create a “gelled” nation not so that so-called muhajirs would somehow make of themselves a separate ethnic group. This is also affecting the ability to provide for Pashtuns because the census is linguistic census not ethnic census.
If any Pashtun has intensions to promote Pashtun culture and language I will go hungry and die of thirst but will send you Dhs500 for the promotion of Pashtun culture provided you are accountable and can show me results. A person can contact me through twitter, my site, or here.
I challenge race, I challenge ethnicity and I challenge the attitudes of not just my race of birth (Muhajirs-as our family sees itself as) but the attitudes of the entire nation which only votes based on ethnicity. For luffy it is an issue that I call myself a Pashtun (and I will always be an outsider to him) but for me it is not! (even though he even defended me at times on the other forum only because he thought I was a 100% Pashtun <even though there may be some Pashtun background involved in our case>)
I don't know if this is allowed but here I posted my reasons for rebelling against the entire concept of ethnicity in post 4 as a dividing force and adopting a new one to give people a message of ethnic unity and of the Nationalist path which is beyond the ethnic issue. People like Spartacus and other MQM bigots should take a look at this post. POST 4 (This forum is supported by defence.pk and is not a competitor so mods... take it easy. Its designed to compete with an Afghan dominated forum where Luffy is more of a free bird.)
Also note it is possible to love your ethnicity and Pakistan without becoming a bigot hating or being callous towards the suffering of others or unfeeling towards other races, seeing everything in the our race vs theirs way. In recent days I have become infamous for my tireless tirades against MQM and how my family behaves... but not once have even members of my family said they are not Pakistani. It’s just their attitude to other races, their “victim syndrome” and shifting blame which is horrible as to be a Pakistani it means to respect all races, all our history, all our cultures and basically love each other. I will die for people with ghairat like Astanosh Khan and others who understand the challenge we face.
Also for a Pashtun novel about the war on terror support my fiction novel Badal (in some ways supports PTI narrative b8 criticizes Taliban severely) which has been slowed down due to my Karachi trip and some work for the Nationalist cause... It is interesting for both Pashtuns and non-pashtuns so either follow on twitter or check my website regularly. And if you feel I am insulting Afghans (Country) I can’t help it. You should really ask them how they treated me and how daily there was abuse for Pakistan and ISI and what beautiful words they use for Jinnah proud and haughty in the knowledge that as a person who had adopted had Pashtun race I would never say the same about people who I also considered my people. If I dislike Afghans after all I’ve seen... *shrugs*... just don’t tell me I have to kiss their *** to be a Pashtun.
