Iran directly involved in the attack on Kirkuk?
Shia militia Hashd al-Shaabi is leading the attack on Kirkuk. It takes its order from Tehran. However, it is alleged that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are directly involved in the attack.

The spokesperson of the Iraqi government says Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Quds Force, is a "military advisor" to the Hashd al-Shaabi forces in Iraq.
Speaking to Rudaw TV on Sunday night, Saad Hadithi, the spokesperson of the Iraqi government said that Soleimani plays a role in Iraq as "military advisor" to the Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi as there are Iranians and Americans existing in Iraq as well.
It's an incredible statement. Does Baghdad have control over what they do? Soleimani is one of America's biggest enemies. To broadcast that he is present at Kirkuk is the same as giving the United States the finger.
The Hashd al-Shaabi militia uses American Abrahams tanks that were given to the Iraqi government army. The Americans have repeatedly experienced that heavier weapons given to the government army have ended at Shia militia that goes to Teheran's errand.
