Breaking news on Geo TV, security forces carried out a highly successfully operation in Tera Valley killing Commander Qari Kamran and twelve other terrorists including an Uzbek national.

Qari Kamran was behind attacks on security forces in Nowshera, Risalpur and Shabqadar.

Security observers are regarding this as a major success against the terrorist out fit.

TTP commander Qari Kamran killed in Khyber Agency

PESHAWAR: Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan commander Qari Kamran was killed in Khyber Agency on Sunday, security forces have said.
According to official sources, security forces launched an operation on an intelligence tip-off in the Alamgir Killay in the Karmina area in the town of Landi Kotal.
Security sources said that Kamran was involved in various attacks on security forces, particularly a suicide attack in Shabqadar in May 2011 in which more than 90 people were killed. He was also involved in the June twin bombing in Nowshera that killed over 20 people and a suicide attack in Risalpur cantonment in August that killed a police assistant sub-inspector.
Security sources said that 12 TTP militants were killed in the operation, while one soldier died and two sustained injuries. Three women and three children were rescued and are being interrogated. According to local sources, those rescued hail from Karmina.
Sources added that the operation started at 9am and continued till 6pm on Sunday. Heavy resistance was faced and foreign militants, possibly Uzbeks, were also present, sources said.
