In fact nations prosper more under one language, look at China

China has dozens of languages but the official language of China is Mandarin Chinese of majority Han Chinese fully backed by the CPC. China do not give a damn about the sentiments of minorities or the languages of minority groups and it is the decision making of majority Han Chinese that counts in China.

Same is the case with Turkey, the official language is "Turkish" because it was the majority language of the majority of the indigenous population of what is today Turkey when modern Turkey was formed in 1923 and the governments in Turkey don't give a damn about what minorities like Kurds, Armenians, Arabs etc. in Turkey about Turkish being the ONLY official language of the country. The whole rift between Turks and Kurds in Turkey has its roots in Turkish language imposition on minority Kurdish regions of East Turkey where Kurds are in majority.
